A friend and I are putting together a show with just the two of us with the theme being growing up and the things that happen and what you learn. we are doing duets and solos and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of songs which could be be used for this theme.

We are akready considering doing

Mama Im a big girl now
For Good
What is this feeling
In his eyes
letting go
meadowlark
stranger to the rain
who will love me as i am

i would reallllly appreciate the help. thank ya! Updated On: 2/18/05 at 03:10 PM

People-- the song is not called "Loathing". It's called "What Is This Feeling?".

Why do so many people confuse the title? Never mind; I think I know why. It's just that incorrect titles are a big pet peeve of mine.

I apologize. re: female songs

I tried to do the growing up thing, but after a while, I just started naming women's songs that I love. Bad me. I think I'll go make a diva mix tape now.

what about A QUIET THING from FLORA THE RED MENACE? i looove that song! it shows a sense of maturity and u could put it in a part where one of the characters dream comes true or somethin like that.

Def. For Good. My friend and I did that duet once and it's such a great song to sing together.

"Everybody Says Don't" is done by a man, but I guess it could be done by a woman.

Well, Streisand pulled it off well on her "Back to Broadway" album...

Come to think, Maria Friedman did it on the Sondheim album. So, yes, I guess it could definitely be done. But in the show, it's sung by Hapgood.
