i know the musical hasn't opened yet... but does anyone know what is being changed with the book/story... are they making anything different to accomodate for the stage or just to make ie more theatrical than movie?

example... kinda like how in the movie beauty and the beast chip leaves the mansion and is with belle but that part was taken out of the stage show....

Sure, it's easy to hear musical echoes in various songs. But "Somewhere That's Green" and "Part of Your World", unlike the list of examples Auggie27 cited, were written by the same person. And somehow, perversely perhaps, that strikes me as even less original than plagarizing someone else. I mean, with thousands of great songwriters to steal from, why steal from yourself?

Yeah... That was kinda mypoint (especially as the songs were even written pretty close together and lyrically serve the same purpose--it's not like Dynasty and Sweeney Todd...) Though I ADORE both songs so...

(And please le'ts not turn this into an Andrew Lloyd Webber trunk song thread re: alan menken talks about howard ashman, 'the little mermaid' score )

...Resisting urge to talk about ALW...

My hunch (and this is totally a hunch) is that that song list is close to completely inaccurate. AND, that Wasting Away has been replaced by this new Ursula Song they have placed in it's spot.

The song I am most looking forward to is "She's in Love". Sounds like it might be the next "A Wonderful Guy" sort of number. Something Broadway hasn't had in FAR too long.
