What's Happening With Show Score?

Anyone know what's happening with the Show Score site? No user reviews are showing for any new production, going back at least to the start of Every Brilliant Thing previews; instead, for more than a month they've been showing the message "New reviews are being saved, but they are not currently displaying on this page. We are upgrading our system, so while your feedback is secure, it won't appear publicly until our updates are complete." Apart from this board (for which I increasingly have to search the threads for actual show feedback), Show Score has been one of my more reliable go-to sources when deciding what to include on my periodic NY trips, particularly for shows in previews. .

Show Score seemed to have lost its touch over the last season or two.

Broadway Scorecard has recently emerged as a much better, comprehensive, Rotten Tomatoes-type source for theatre of all kinds.

Broadway Scorecard is great for critic reviews, but doesn't cover anything in previews. That's where Show Score was particularly useful.

It does at least give you a taste of the overall audience response throughout previews, extracted from the Mezzanine and Theatr apps.

But yes, the lengthy individual critiques during previews was where Show Score once thrived.

People tend to post short but honest reviews on the Theatr app.

Re: What's Happening With Show Score?

Does anyone have any update on the Show Score site? We were told months ago that the problem preventing individual reviews of Off Broadway and regional shows would be posted by "end of March". It's now end of July and no response from the Show Score support group.

Re: What's Happening With Show Score?

Yeah just a few days ago the off broadway reviews still weren't showing up, only total scores. But as of now the reviews are up and it looks like everything is finally working on the site now?

But now they took away how many reviews each reviewer posted so its harder to distinguish genuine reviews from fake ones.

Re: What's Happening With Show Score?

Most user reviews are now from a “verified attendee,” not an individual person. It’s sad because Show Score used to be quite useful, especially when the $5 tickets were available. Once TodayTix bought it, that was the beginning of the end. At this point, I have given up on it. There's no way I'm going to answer 99 marketing questions in order to leave a short review.

And then the review doesn't get posted anyway.

And am I crazy or do many of these "verified" user reviews look written by AI?

Re: What's Happening With Show Score?

...it's rather fascinating that Broadway/New York theater review aggregate sites have repeatedly been acquired and then watered down by producers and ticket-selling platforms.

You aren't crazy and some definitely have. I used to absolutely love show score so this is a real shame what happened to it.
