If we are talking romantic love for another person, then I would have to say "Someone Like You" from Jekyll and Hyde. However, if we are talking about love in general, not necessarily for another person, but rather for life, "What I Did for Love" wins hands down.
Either "Kiss Me" from SWEENEY or "Tonight" from WEST SIDE STORY.
I also love "I'd Give it All For You" from SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, "The Next 10 Minutes" from THE LAST FIVE YEARS, and "More Than I Am" from LITTLE WOMEN. "The Next 10 Minutes" is probably my favorite from that group.
"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering." --Harold Hill from The Music Man
I agree... "Someone like you" is beautiful. Never saw the musical Jeckyll and Hyde, but I attended a concert where Linda Eder sang it. Absolutely beautiful song.
"On My Own"- LM "If Ever I Would Leave You"- Camelot
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."
Conan O'Brien
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
