I went to an evening show two weeks ago, and everyone signed and took pics. I think Josh Groban prefers to take photos himself so it goes quicker, but he stopped for everyone. Amber Gray came out after Groban when everyone had left and spent so much time talking to the people still there. She is the sweetest.
Wondering what Josh's track record of coming out after a matinee was? Saw the matinee of Dear Evan Hansen this afternoon and sadly none of the cast came out the stage door at all. Originally we had planned to see Come From Away Saturday afternoon, and Great Comet Saturday night. However, I've forgotten that CFA is a 90 minute show which would allow for us to try and stage door for DEH again that night since that will let out later. I just didn't want to run the risk of seeing Great Comet on a matinee, if the odds of Josh stage dooring after the show would be minimal. Thanks! Sorry if this comes off confusing!
Went to the Great Comet stage door twice in January and the only main cast member that didn't come out was Amber Gray (I went back the second night hoping I could catch her). Everyone was in a great mood and seemed to be enjoying the experience.
As a general rule, most actors don't come out between shows on a 2-show day. I think Josh Groban has even said on Twitter that he doesn't do it. You can always save the playbill and try at night though - as long as you've seen the show, I think that's fine.
As far as DEH goes broadwayboy222, Ben Platt might be hard to catch (5-show weekends have to be brutal given the role's demands), but we had everyone else come out to sign on a Saturday night. Some of the actors were into it (Will Roland is hilarious) and some of them clearly just wanted to GTFO as soon as possible, so I appreciated that they still took the time to sign.
I apologize if this is something that should be obvious, but I'm unsure so I'm asking here - is it considered improper etiquette to have them sign something other than the show's own stuff at Stage Door? I'm going to be stage dooring Great Comet after seeing it over Memorial Day weekend, and while I always get signatures on my program, my mother is a huge Josh Groban fan and was hoping I could get his signature on some CD she has of him singing various Broadway tunes. I'm not sure if he would sign it at the stage door as well or if this would be a faux pas of some sort. Rather than just go and try and potentially make a fool of myself, I thought it best to ask here first. I know my mother would love it if I could, but if I know beforehand that it's not a realistic expectation I can explain that to her and aim for something else to bring her as a souvenir.
When I was there, he signed all of his past Cd's that the person next to me had, he was really nice and kind, he also takes photos! So don't worry, he signs everything
Josh Groban even signed a Hamilton playbill that someone ran over from next door (his joking "congrats on seeing another show!" line as he handed it back was pretty amusing). I think a CD of him singing Broadway tunes shouldn't be a problem at all.
Since I did the Hamilton stage door last year, I have a feeling I have to rush outside to get a nice spot for autographs and pics at stage doors (I don't live in NY, and I don't even live in the US so I don't have a lot of experience (._. ). I'm seeing the show in June. What are the chances here? Do they stop for everyone waiting? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
When I went during previews she did, but when I returned this March she didn't. However, I follow her on Twitter and she retweets pictures of herself with people at the SD every once in a while, so I'd assume she comes out at least fairly regularly!

If I were you, honestly, I'd bring both! I've never had a problem saying "Would you mind signing X thing too, it's for someone back home who's a huge fan". I always limit myself to two items max, because I don't want to take up their time too much, but I've never had an issue with a second item
Any recent reports? I'm seeing it on Saturday. I've seen from the Instagram Stories takeovers by members of the ensemble that it can be fairly packed. Who comes out?
When I went in January, basically everyone except for Denee Benton came out. Whoever does come out is really sweet and will sign/take photos/selfies with everyone. The crowd was maybe 2-3 people deep but I'm not sure if it's still that way now.
I stage doored in April and they all came out and the crowd was only 2 people deep. They were so sweet and the ensemble member from my area even recognized me which was sweet! However two weeks ago I got out of another show as the Great Comet was getting out and the crowd to stage door was bigger than Hamilton's. It must have been 5-7 people deep and out in the street. So definitely rush over if you are trying to get signatures, don't know if selfies are allowed anymore. Best of luck!
He usually does! But if you catch him after a matinee he probably won't really talk – the show kills his voice so he has to go on vocal rest between shows on two show days. Even so, he's a very nice guy and will still take time to sign/take pictures!

Megsamegatron, if you don't mind me asking, do you remember what day of the week it was when you saw that?
And thanks a lot for your info!
" Yes, it was Saturday, June 3rd after the evening performance!
** Oh my! I guess that doesn't look good since I'm going to the evening performance as well. I figured getting a signed window card was complicated but now it seems impossible. I hope the crowds will be smaller after the Tonys. Alas, I'll let you know how it goes! I really want to greet them and get autographs. Thank you very much again for your input.
I went in mid-May to a Friday night show, and it was definitely about 4-5 people deep. Everyone except Denee came out and was super friendly. I think it was Nick Choksi who had a half-finished bag of little cookies he offered to share as he went down the line! Lucas didn't really speak; as others have pointed out, he's often on vocal rest when he's not onstage but he's very sweet and clearly does his best to be expressive and signs and takes pictures. Josh's bodyguard came out and said that Josh wouldn't be able to take pictures that night, but that he'd sign for everyone and we were welcome to take pictures of him as he was signing. He was every bit as nice as others are saying, joked with everyone, did his little awkward Pierre jig at one point, and was clearly trying to cheat himself into good angles for pictures so that people could still get a picture "with" him unofficially.

Josh Groban just sounds so adorable! Everyone does, actually. It gives me hope that they all seem to be very kind and take time to sign things for everyone! I was a bit concerned because I'll be sitting in rear mezz, and I guess it's not easy to get out. I'm glad you had a great time bwayrose7! Thank you so much for sharing.
I went in mid-May, and it was an incredibly positive experience. Everyone except Amber and Denee came out, and everyone was super sweet. As has been noted by some others, Lucas was on vocal rest, but was still super sweet! Josh signed for everyone, but had to rush to be somewhere, so he couldn't do selfies. Everyone else was so kind (Grace McLean even gave me a hug!), and it was an overall wonderful atmosphere! The cast is just so happy to be there!

Every time I've went (including my most recent trip a few weeks ago, post noms) she came out. The only member of the main cast I've never caught is Amber, but from this forum I'm getting the impression that Denée is almost as elusive and I've just been lucky.
