I LOVE it. It's a complete visual spectacle. While most people on this board arne't such big fans..it's always been a favorite of mine and I could see it time and time again. Truly original work it is...You'll definitely enjoy it..especially i f you have an aisle seat or your in the first few rows. Listen to the OBCR before you go if you get a chance...
Yeah, I've had the OBCR since it's been on Broadway but now that it's coming here I've been seeing things on here about how much people don't like the show. I would hate to pay $75 for a ticket and I not enjoy it.......know what I mean? I really want to see this show soooooooo bad.
What city are you in? I just wondered which touring company you're going to be seeing.
Did you ever see something and say, "I just have to have it"?
Sometimes a dream appears unattainable...but for anyone who's on the downside of advantage, and relying purely on courage, it's possible.
I saw it and loved it. I saw it and it was great. The cast was really great and everything. The costumes are really extraordinary, as well as the puppetry.
"The weight of this sad time we must obey, Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say. The oldest hath borne most; we that are young Shall never see so much, nor live so long"-Edgar in King Lear
I saw the tour when it was in Chicago back in 2003. I enjoyed it and thought it was really creative. The puppetry was really cool and so were the costumes. It isn't too popular on these boards, but if you go in with an open mind you'll probably enjoy it.
I most definitely have issues with my word choices on this board.
I saw it in Arizona about two weeks ago and loved every minute of it! We had an understudy for Simba, but it rocked my world anyway...I almost cried at the end of Endless Night. Then, Rafiki cut him off on the last note. I was so surprised, I didn't know what to do. I think I just sort of sat there, wondering if I should clap or not.
Anywho, I totally missed anything that happened on Pride Rock and any of arial ballets in Can You Feel the Love tonight (I had horrid balcony seats), so I couldn't tell you if those parts were any good...Like WhiteRabbit said, if you go in with an open mind, you'll probably enjoy it.
I saw the tour recently in St. Louis, and I loved it. The cast was amazing. Has a very very strong ensemble, the only flaw in the cast that I saw was the boy who played Young Simba. Very annoying voice, pushing too hard to hit some of the notes, and straining to sound young and just like on the 'soundtrack'. Visually one of the greatest shows I have ever seen. Sets, costumes, lighting, and all other aspects of the show are incredible.

If you ask me: Don't listen to the people on the board...make your own opinion for it. Even if you don't like it, you won't regret going, it's a fantastic show . Even the people on here got to see it...definitely pay the money...it's worth it.
