Can you blame her? This isn't the big hit they thought it was going to be. Respectable grosses, but not earth shattering.

True, but maybe this was simply the end of her contract and she has some TV + film commitments.

Sept 6 was the initial closing date before it extended; Gasteyer may not have been available or willing to extend (she often tours in the holiday season, as well).
