Patti LuPone as Diana Vreeland in Full Gallop

It has been a busy news day! But this was exciting to wake up to. I absolutely loved Full Gallop with Mary Louise Wilson back in the mid-1990s. It's a good role for Patti, and I think this will be a highlight of the season. Also, seeing her in City Center's Stage II will be an experience, since the theatre is so intimate.

She is not circumventing any rules. You cannot be forced to join AEA. She will be working on an Equity contract, she will have working dues deducted and benefit trust contributions made on her behalf. She will just not, herself, be a member. Her quitting the union was extremely performative and really only saved her the twice annual membership dues, which is a negligible amount for her.

She already played a version of this in War Paint except I think this might be better for her
