So sad. My friend was there for the both of us because I couldn't get out of class. We didn't win. :o( :o( :o(

Yeah, I was on the phone with my friend who was there and she said Constantine was retarded with the megaphone - that nobody could hear him.
He is a bit of a tool anyway. I was next to him in this VIP area at a concert last May, and all he did was check his cellphone the entire time. Loser. ;o)

Emcee knows so many people that I wouldn't be at all surprised if, even if she personally didn't win, she got in with someone who did. I hope some BWWers won!
Princeton78, you think you're making a joke, but as my friends and I got on the subway (after not winning, obviously), we saw 4 teenage girls in red track suits sobbing. I actually felt really bad for them. But um, yeah, my friends laughed. Awkward.
You know what I've noticed? The only time I'm ever aware of the fanatic Wicked/Idina fan girls is when people slip in some "sly" or seemingly clever line. Not just like "Oh my god! Those fans were awful today". More like "those wicked fan girls are probably sobbing" or "i bet some idina fans are going to move to london now". Perhaps people forget how many people RENT affected when it initially opened. I'm sure its not just the WICKED fanatics out there. There are probably tons of genuine RENT fans out there as well as people who have stuck with the show since it opened. It just really grates on my nerves when people keeping hitting those WICKED fanatics like a dead horse. Wanna avoid them? Don't see WICKED. I, for one, have been a fan of RENT for five years and if I had the chance to be in NYC, I would be out there now. Anything to experience a special night like tonight. Updated On: 4/24/06 at 04:39 PM
I can see where you're coming from, Kevinoes, I really can, but.... Red Track Suits. That automatically sort of *does* make them crazy Idina fans foremost rather than genuine Rent fans, in my eyes.
I saw Rent the first week it opened on Broadway. It seemed great that night but the next afternoon I saw Chicago at Encores! and the Rent experience was erased :) I went back to Rent last spring and was amazed that it had turned into an unintelligible rock concert versus the interesting musical theatre it was early in the run. I guess it's the change in the audience over the years.

I think it is more closely related to the cast itself. The original cast had this bond that can never be replicated, and they took the show very seriously as an important work. As they have been replaced, the significance of the piece for each replacement cast member has all but dissipated. None of them went through what the original cast had to deal with, and therefore don't treat the show with the respect most of the original cast did.
Were they strict about the 3 PM cut off time? Regardless the earliest I could have gotten there is probably the time at which they were pulling the names out.
Didn't make it. I wanted to just go down there to take a look at the mayhem, but my friend stopped me, she said it was for the good of my mental sanity. And yes, I am emotionally affected by being deprived the the chance in trying. The ironic thing is I went to the thing I was supposed to be at, and the person organizing the thing thought I was getting overwhelmed by what I would be responsible for doing. Oy.
Honestly, you have to stop with the Wicked fangirl beef. It's getting old... to be honest with an exception to a few questionable fangirls who have been epitomized by their I <3 Idina t-shirts and red track suits (which I will very well admit I own. Yes, I own the infamous Idina red track suit, and it's one of my favorite soccer warm ups. The end.) and over zealous stage dooring habits, I really don't see why there needs to be this constant need to continue bashing.
