OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

Meg posted on Instagram that she plans to be back in the show tonight.

I think it’s worth remembering that Maya got sick and missed a few shows during the second week of her run — then came back recovered and had perfect attendance otherwise.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

"Meg Stalter once again donned the bratty, curled wig of Mary Todd Lincoln last night, returning to her Broadway debut performance as the lead in Cole Escola’s Oh, Mary! after a weeklong absence due to bronchitis.

Just prior to the Friday evening performance, Stalter posted an Instagram Story photo of herself, apparently in her dressing room at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre, with the note, “Planning on being back in the show tonight as long as my voice doesn’t give out.”

All went as planned. Subsequent after-show additions to her Instagram Story included re-posts of audience member IGs with photos and brief video clips of the Hacks actor taking her bows at curtain to a standing ovation..."

This would command Maya Rudolph prices.

I fear they would be insufferable and the show would run for two hours. I've had sufficient of both of them.

I know time will tell, but wondering.. could Alaska be the Broadway Mary? The dates would align with Meg’s departure.

I’m gonna have to travel and see Alaska in this, she’ll be hilarious.

Any rumors of potential Broadway Mary’s?

We should know ideally in the next week or two. But get your tickets for the CT run now. They are almost sold out unless you want to buy the arm-and-a-leg seats.

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

The heading of this thread is Oh MARY Reviews so can we please just leave this to reviews of the performance you have just seen.

All this squabble is juvenile and a waste of scrolling time to find a persons thoughts about a performance.

I came to BWW to read and learn about theater and not be confronted with childish bitching.

Are you talking about the back and forth about Meg's absence that had not essentially not been talked about in a full 10 days before you told everybody to shut up? Are you okay?

You quite literally derailed the message board like you're asking people to not do... it's actually weird as hell.

Back on convo: Do we think this week we'll be getting an announcement? Are there particular "Press Release Days" that these types of announcements are reserved for? Like are Tuesdays big days to announce? Or is it just really, when the producers decide to announce casting?

Saw this elsewhere and it was debunked. She would be horrible.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Re: OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

I suspect an announcement is very imminent though I would imagine is being timed so as not to step on the tour cast announcement. I've heard from a credible source that it may finally be Bowen Yang's turn to don the bratty curls.

On Joel Kim Booster's podcast this week, he was talking about how there was a big casting announcement soon for OH MARY, but it wouldn't be him going into the show. It would make sense that he was referring to Bowen Yang, given their history.

Yang was offered Mary last summer and passed, but now that he's off SNL, it would make more sense schedule wise.
