I have auditions for Florida State Thespian Competition in October and I have a small group of 2 boys and myself (a girl). I was thinking of Those You've Known from Spring Awakening. I would love to do You Don't Know/I Am the One but as you can imagine... everyone and their mother is doing it. =( Suggestions please!
As soon as I read the thread title I was thinking of Next to Normal, too. You could do "Who I'd Be" from Shrek. There are parts for Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona. Or "Roll In The Hay" or a version of "Transylvania Mania" from Young Frankenstein (Frederick, Igor, Inga). Those were all at the top of my head... Updated On: 9/15/09 at 06:23 PM
You could do the Webber Love Trio. Have the guys sing "Love Changes Everything" and "Unexpected Song" and you sing "I Don't Know How to Love Him." Leading Ladies Concert
I don't know for sure if a songbook was ever released for DRACULA, the musical, but I love "A Perfect Life / Loving You Keeps Me Alive / Over Whitby Bay (Reprise)". Don't know if it's in English yet either, and one guy gets jipped a little, but it's a wonderful trio!!

^Really, half of the score from Merrily: Old Friends Our Time Now You Know Bobby, Jackie, and Jack
I could even see It's a Hit, Opening Doors, Good Thing Going, Not a Day Goes By, or a trio of the title song, Rich and Happy, Way That it Was or Old Friends, Franklin Shepard Inc, and ending with Our Time.
I realize I'm about two months late in seeing this post...however my suggestion would have been this...don't worry about the whole gender issue. At The Ballet from A Chorus Line. Could be pretty cool with both males and females singing the song.
Isn't there a really pretty trio between Emma/Lucy/Jekyll in "Jekyll & Hyde?" Maybe I'm making this up because I can't think of what it would be, but I thought there was one there that would work.
I like the idea of using "Riddle" from "Scarlet Pimpernel" too. It's fun and catchy and probably totally different from anything else that's being performed.
"The Rain In Spain" from MY FAIR LADY "Love Won't Take No For An Answer" from TRIUMPH OF LOVE "Normandy" from ONCE UPON A MATTRESS "Our Time" and "Old Friends" from MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG
What shall i do? From cole porter's you never know- it features the female part a little more. I'd also check out some songs from singin in the rain if i were u.
