I think some of the comments directed at Lea Michelle as a person are uncalled for. Unless someone has concrete facts to back this up then maybe they should think before the post.
What we should be discussing is her ability as an actress. It appears the majority of people think she has the vocals to pull off the role, but not the comic timing. Also, the concern that she would be a carbon copy of Streisand. Could it be that we are so used to Lea Michelle being Rachel Berry who in turn constantly tries to be Streisand that our judgement is clouded? Just a thought!

That's a good point. I think some people forget that Lea Michelle is trying to act like Streisand when she sings Funny Girl songs on Glee cause that's exactly what her character would do. I doubt Lea is as big of a fan of Streisand as her character is. I think Lea is smart enough to know that if she ever does do Funny Girl on Broadway, that she will have to bring her own take on the role and not copy Streisand.

If I took the time to actually care, I could spend the next hour posting an incredibly long list of both threads and individual posts that address this very issue. I feel like we're talking about the evil b!tch's reputation every other week. Many on here know her through a friend/colleague/etc. or have secondhand, and sometimes even firsthand, account of her terrible ways. It's also no secret in the industry that she is a nightmare to work with. So in this case it is her personal character that is the culprit; not her talent.

This one is about her playing Fanny Brice. Although she could certainly sing it, she is in no way the physical comedienne the role calls for. Are we back on topic?
