Also, tickets are now on sale through September 6.
Jordan will not be performing June 17-18 and July 14-15.

That's three week gap and I don't see the show going on hiatus for that long. I did notice tickets are on sale for those three weeks. Odds are they hire another standby for the role by then.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I doubt Matthew had anything to do with it, just rumors that people ran with. Jeremy is charming and sells tickets. Floyd Collins was a very strange choice for Lincoln Center which is why it did not sell. His third Broadway show in one year, how incredibly impressive.

Long stretch to try and fill the theater with $69 tickets. And they'd need a second cover for those three weeks.

With all due respect, I don't think Floyd Collins was a strange choice for Lincoln Center at all. It was probably an unpopular choice for Jordan fans, and the word of mouth among 'em was: you can skip this one. (I heard some at intermission express disappointment that "this was the show he chose to do." A man next to me, a fan dating to Newsies, left ) An Adam Guettel revival in the house where Guettel had his longest run with Piazza, with the original Collins co-creator and director, feels in sync with the umbrella LCT mission.

I think it was a strange choice in the sense that it is a fairly niche, almost cult show in the musical canon, a far cry from the big classic musical revivals LCT had become known for. South Pacific, My Fair Lady, The King & I, Floyd Collins- one of those is unlike the others. It's closer in tone and style to the new musicals LCT puts up.

I see Kad's point. It's closer to, say, Flying Over Sunset than any revival of golden age pieces. Sidebar: I believe it made fans of Jordan who never saw him before (me, since I never got to Bonnie and Clyde and he was gone from Gatsby.) I went back to Collins, thanks to TDF. I thought he was remarkable.

I find it ironic -- if MM was seriously being considered -- that JJ ended up getting the job. Think back a decade and the controversy when MM replaced JJ in Finding Neverland, not because JJ was not good in the role (he was), but because MM was a bigger name. Neither had a great few years after FN IMO, but then JJ starred in Gatsby and Floyd Collins, whereas MM has been making a Life time movie here and there and certainly doing nothing for his career.
I actually think it would be a smart move for Morrison to take the tour. He would give it further pedigree and, since he is talented, remind everyone that he has a lot to offer (thinking LA and SF stops),

I keep seeing discourse about Jeremy Jordan not being able to dance the part, and if I'm correct, Groff too isn't considered a dancer but put in the work and has been successful at it with this show.
I'm not necessarily a Jeremy Jordan fan myself, there's a smugness about him that I personally am turned off by, so this doesn't make me want to run to get tickets, but I'm sure he'll be able to get the steps and surprise his critics.

I was about to say the same thing about my perception of Morrison, and then I realized that a lot of Broadway performers fit that description. I suppose a lot of that comes from actors compensating for their own insecurities as it appears that many of those performers whose public personas I find annoying are highly regarded by their peers, so who am I to judge?
When Jordan was in Newsies, he made a point of saying that he was not a dancer because he not flexible enough to move like a dancer, so he had to just “fake it”. As hard as Groff worked on his dancing skills, he would probably be the first to say that all the work in the world is not going transform him into a natural dancer. He did enough, and that’s probably what Jordan is hoping to do. Over the years, Jordan has developed an easygoing style for his cabaret performances, and that should serve him well in this role. He’ll do fine.

right?! Like I don’t expect either of them to keep up with the best of them, but for this show, I think Jeremy will be able to manage comparable to Groff.
