You guys should come up to Pocono Playhouse in the summer. We have the same shows/casts and we normally have them a few weeks before Buck's does. If you guys come on a Wednesday night I'll be your usher(the only guy).
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

Bucks would probably be closer for you. Not exactly sure how much closer but closer. for those living in and around NYC it would be quicker to go to Pocono.

WOW WOW WOW. I just came back from seeing the matinee performance of Gypsy, and in 20 years of going to that theater this was honestly one of the best productions I've seen from them. The entire cast was uniformly great, especially Louise and the strippers. Herbie was very good, but I have a feeling he has a much more powerhouse voice than he was letting out (not that the role called for it).
And Joyce DeWitt. Wow. Everything's Coming Up Roses and Rose's Turn tore the house down. Who knew she could do that!? Something that really impressed me was that she didn't do what most of the other "talent" they bring in there does -- give winking acknowledgements that "hey, I'm a washed up 70s star pretending I can do musical theater." She was in character the entire time, and ruled that stage. They do have a tendency to bring back people to that theater, I hope they bring her back again next season - maybe doing Mrs. Lovett....

Also, the girl who played Baby June - she seemed to be created specifically to play this role!
I never really appreciated just how great a show Gypsy is. I've always liked it, but it's been YEARS since I've seen it, and I think I was too young to really appreciate it when I last did. Seeing it again, it's really no wonder it's considered one of the best shows in history.
Who did you see as Louise? Joyce's neice is terrible from what i hear. The better of the two girls they cast, ive heard, is Angela (last name?). Wasn't she the one they cast first? How much say did Joyce have in getting her neice involved in her first "professional production"? Too bad for the other girl.
I saw the other one - Angela something - I don't have the program on hand. She was very good - strong voice, and definitely convincining in her change from mousy Lousie to the stripper.
I live in Bucks. Sounds interesting. The last show I saw at TBCPH was "Kiss Me Kate" which was amazing!! I maybe seeing "Phantom" and "Dracula" there this fall.
