Considering that they are preparing to start previews in Melbourne on Friday, I wouldn't expect any info on the San Francisco production until next month at the earliest. There is no reason to think that the production design will be any different than what is seen in London or on Broadway, excepting of course modifications made to fit the space.

The Lyric is still a barn compared to the size of the Curran...especially the lobby space. Don't think there is any way they can cram the various lower and upper lobby "shoppes" into the Curran.

As expected, you can't choose your specific seats. I checked a few dates and was always given center orchestra row B, C, or D. (I had been hoping for front row mezzanine.)

This would surprise me, since they've ripped out all the seats for the Jungle and could put them back however they want. Maybe there will be a center aisle, with nonstandard seating numbers."

Do you mean that the premium tickets were $279 for each part? You do realize that the play is in two parts, correct?

I am still awaiting group pricing for the balcony thru Curran group sales and the first two rows will be $159 per part, or so I've been told. Hope to receive official word next week.

Thanks for the update. I signed up for the access link for tickets for the sale on March 11. I received the link yesterday with instructions that prices will start at $59 and that the limit is 9 tickets per link, one transaction only. I find it interesting (but not surprising) that I haven't read anything about refunds/returns, but I suppose they must have learned not to offer this option after the Broadway refund policy was changed and then eventually removed.

Best of luck with your marathon Saturday. I opted for that in NYC and found it exhausting.

I wonder if the storefront between the Curran and the Clift Hotel is available - that would be a possible location. I'm also wondering if any of the restaurants on the block will start offering HP themed dinners - especially on 2 show days. (Personally, we loved our 2 show Wednesday in NY, although you found it a slog)

...and yeah, I'm not expecting any nest to appear outside the Curran at least until after The Jungle finishes in May.

A possibility is the cluster of art museums near Moscone Center. It's walkable, (Google shows 0.6 mile/12 min) but you may wish to take a cab or Lyft/Uber (which considering the time and SF traffic these days might take longer).
- The SF Museum of Modern Art - the biggie. An excellent collection, most recently with the opening of a new addition, primarily filled with the Fisher (GAP) collection.
Also, a number of smaller museums within a block
- The Museum of the African Diaspora
- Contemporary Jewish Museum
- The Yerba Buena Gardens has a museum for traveling shows across the street from the SFMOMA (may not be open)
...also, Google lists The Mexican Museum, but I think it's still more of a fundraising goal than actual building.

Many little places inside and nearby for dinner. Depending on your schedule, perhaps one of the little museums and a meal. Also depending on the season, the Yerba Buena Garden park has entertainment and events scheduled.

Spinning... spinning... spinning. Each date I pick says no seats and then it respins for minutes! The site says it's picking available dates at the price levels I've picked...and then it says nothing's available and I have to go through the spin cycle again! And my sense is that there are a limited number of presale tickets or a lot of people are vying for those price levels at the same time. Lucky I saw this in New York too.

I'm back in again, and I'm having the same experience with it just spinning, and then saying there are no dates.

I don't understand how a major ticket retailer pre-plans an on sale date for a major event and then doesn't arrange to have the bandwidth available to handle metered traffic. You had one job...

It's been an hour since I clicked on the link, and my number is 17,123, down from 18,685. At this rate, it will take another 16 hours before it is my turn. It will take less time to book NY seats and fly there to see it .

I wouldn't stress about getting tickets. If London and Broadway have taught us anything, it is that the productions are holding back the release of a decent number of tickets. Unless you are going with a large number of people, it shouldn't be too hard to get tickets, especially if you are flexible with dates.
