A cab, or actually they're limos from the airport to downtown will run you around$50.00. They are very clean and comfortable. You won't find a regular cab at the airport, because they aren't allowed to pick people up unless it's prearranged. But they are the same price as limos - sometimes more expensive because they're metered and the limos are flat rate. The Delta Chelsea is very close (1/2 block) to the Elgin Wintergarden and is a nice hotel. It's close to shopping and the theatre district. There are lots of good restaurants to be recommended once you know where you're staying and what you're doing. And there are lots of good restaurants and fun areas a $10.00 cab ride from downtown - Queen Street West, the Danforth, the Annex etc. Would be happy to advise as your plans become more solid.

Depending on when during the month you'll be in Toronto - at the Diesel Playhouse, Evil Dead is playing until the 8th and Jewtopia begins performances on the 23rd. And Funny Busindess - the Musical, which was wonderful in the Toronto Fringe Festival, is being done in the Diesel's cabaret space. http://www.dieselplayhouse.com/

Soulpepper also has a couple shows that will be running through September. http://www.soulpepper.ca/
