I'm trying to think of categories for my HS theater awards. Its just a little something the seniors do for all of the underclassmen ("paper-plate awards") but I'm having trouble remembering any. Of course they often relate to things that happen during rehersals/costumes/characters/etc. butI'm just looking for some ideas. Anyone ever do this in hs, and if so, what were some of the awards? Thanks!
My chorus teacher did something like that in middle school, for the graduating 8th-graders. One of my friends and I got the "arguing like an old married couple" award (she was very anti-Broadway- I still don't know why- and, naturally, I was very pro-Broadway, hence: some conflict during our lessons). Um... someone got the "Most Improved (You Can Actually Hear Me!) Award." Trying to think of more, but, as you said, they often relate to things that happen during rehearsals, etc. If I think of anything else, I'll post them.
Yeah, last year my friend got a "last minute award" for being cast late, Biggest cupcake (glinda's dress in WoZ) etc.
This year's show has been so dry though and me and the other seniors are having trouble thinking of stuff. We're doing Hello, Dolly! and I was thinking of stupid stuff like Best looking in a corset
--Best _________ impersonator (I won for best Paige Davis Impression) --most likely to fall in the pit --most likely to PLAY in the pit --comeback award (a senior or junior who didn't do drama before that year, or only once) --worst fit award for costumes (large pictures always good) --spaz award --The "ghost" award (most likely to forget an entrance) --best snow/wind/gun shot (stage crew) --best death --most creative bow --happiest to go home
