The Madrid production of MAN OF LA MANCHA. The translator took wild liberties with the lyrics, to the point that Wasserman et al almost pulled the plug on the whole thing. But it's sung with such passion that it's a joy to listen to.
And best of all, two discs -- virtually the entire show.
The Viennese casts of Phantom and Les Mis Les Mis Paris cast Notre Dame de Paris Romeo et Juliette Der Glockner von Notre Dame German recording of Rent (looove the Mimi. love her. They're all really good, but she's crazy fantastic.)
"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)." -Adam Shankman.
"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"
"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!" -E!'s "The Soup"
I love the Vienesse recording of Phantom of the Opera. The thing that sticks out most for me on that recording is that the orchestrations are more unique than the other cast recordings. I also love the Canadian Cast recording, as it was the one I grew up with.
I've always wanted to hear a Hebrew cast recording of a musical. Any musical really. I've studied Hebrew in the past and love the languages, so it would be interesting for me to hear.
