Ah, I kind of think the Goodnight & Thankyou door/wall/mirror thing is a "major" set piece too in a way!
And in this (Non-Eq & Kathy Voytko) tour, the projection screen thing is kind of prominent!?

Most audiences nowadays expect to see the movie version onstage, so when they see Hal's original 1970's staging, they are disappointed. I heard people complaining all around me about the lack of sets and how the film was better the last time I saw Chicago onstage. If people actually expect to see a full replica of the Casa Rosada onstage, they are effin' crazy.
The original Evita designs and staging were brilliant, imo. They were abstract, suggestive, and got the point across without spoon-feeing the audience exactly where everything was taking place. This story is heavy on the lyrics, so I think it was wise to turn focus on the actors and not gaudy pieces of elaborate scenery.
The tour you saw was largely based on the original production. I think the only things that were changed were the size of the balcony (I believe there were staircases on either side instead of the catwalk that came right out from the wings in the original Broadway production), the lit floor, and the moving projection screen, which also changed size in some scenes.
The 20th anniversary tour back in the late 90's was an exact replica of the original Broadway production. Most productions nowadays don't light the floor from below. Now they just beam spots onto the white "M" on the stage floor.

Posted: 7/17/08 at 2:45amYou are in fact incorrect. the 2007-2008 tour went to many small venues. Some so small that they couldn't use the projections or the Casa Rosada. Just because the show Evita is famous dose not mean it only played large houses. It was non-equity! And if Evita is so famous why did you say you had never "heard of or seen Evita" before?

The fact that you claim to be some sort of executive director of some theater and yet you had not heard of Evita...a Tony Award winning musical by one of today's most famous musical theater composers...is rather suspect.

Posted: 7/21/08 at 2:36pmEvita is not some obscure show from 1951 that fell through the cracks of time...anyone who is involved in theater in even the most limited capacity will know about it. Maybe in 20 years it will be conceivable for someone in theater to not have heard of it, but it is a widely produced show that seems to tour every couple of years, so I find anyone who claims to be some type of executive in the entertainment field and to have never heard of this show to be highly suspect.

So you're saying that before the age of twenty you acted in 12 musicals, staged managed 6 musicals, and produced and directed 4 plays and two musicals. And you were president and vice president. All before the age of 20. 20 musicals for an alleged community theater that has no website and apparently had no online publicity whatsoever for any of these shows. This is in addition to the multiple films you have also claimed to have directed in posts to other online communities.

I called the Times-Mail which is the newspaper for Lawrence County, Indiana and talked to the woman in charge of the entertainment section. She talked to three other people in the news room who were from Mitchell. No one had heard of the Mitchell Community Theater. No one at the Mitchell Community Public Library has heard of the Mitchell Community Theater. Nothing shows up on Google. It's not listed on the curtainrising.com list of Indiana Community Theaters. There's no phone listing for the Mitchell Community Theater. The only evidence you offer is a gmail account which you could have signed up for yourself.
I conclude that you're lying the same way you've been caught lying online before.
But prove me wrong. Tell us the name and date of the two musicals you directed and produced and I'll check the licensing to see if you're on the level.
