"Edelweiss"?? You're putting me on. I'd love to hear your opinion about what's so "cheesy" about it. Explain yourself, and what you think that song means.
i'm going to be unpopular here, but I've never liked "Much More" from The Fantasticks. I love the show, I like the sentiment, i like the lyrics, but the music does nothing for me, and I never assign it. too many repeated notes, octave leaps, bor-ring. There are lots of songs I hate from shows I hate, but that's the only song I don't like from a show I DO like.
"Knock knock"
"Who's there?"
"Control freak--now you say 'control freak who?'"
"oh, i'm sure there are plenty of you would say this is not a "classic amazing" show and that the entire score is bad, but i happen to like it ... so there. "
I absolutely agree with you. I think Titanic has one of Broadway's most beautiful scores in the last 15 years. I loved the show and the staging. It also had the BEST chorus I've ever heard. They were perfect.

"Everything from crap shows like..."Bombay Dreams""
HAVE YOU EVER LISTENED TO THE JOURNEY HOME??? That has to be one of the best ballads for any male in a long time. Im singing it right now for my voice lessons its a really beautiful song. I brought it to m voice teacher and I have never seen her so moved by a song. dont critisize an ENTIRE score. even the "crap shows have a few good songs in them.
and Edelwiess Come on thats such a beutiful simplely written bitter seet song. Its the last song that Rogers and Hammerstein ever wrote together. The Last song Oscar Hamersein wrote period. Dont dis it.
The pseudo-rap song was the only number I didn't like in Bombay Dreams. Most of the score was quite good, especially the Hindi pop and traditional numbers. A pretty strong score, in my opinion. Much improved from the London production which had much weaker lyrics and they cut the worst of the songs.
