I'm sorry if this redundant although I checked a few threads, but what is the stage door like at the City Center? Is it findable? Was the cast nice about autographs last night?

I am taking my friend to see Applause! last night and it is his first Broadway show (well, not technically Broadway - that will by Gypsy! when I take him May 2 - SOOOOO stoked for that) and I would love to make his experience as special as possible, although I understand with Ebersol feeling down in the dumps her autograph might not be possible.

Interesting enough my friend lives in the same town she does - Maplewood, NJ. Just found that out randomly tonight.

Thanks guys.

It's very easy to locate - the rear of the building around the block. There's a building to your right as you exit the front doors that has a lobby you can walk through, rather than take the long way by walking around the block.

It was a little crowded when I was there for a concert and a little chaotic...mainly because the performers needed to board a bus for a dinner and auction. But most of them still stopped for fans.

Are you going to the matinee? Despite the fact that she adores her fans and came out every (almost) every performance of Grey Gardens to sign, if Christine is sick, she may want to stay indoors between shows to avoid the cold. It's supposed to be a rather cold weekend.

No I went to tonight's evening show and she was absolutely FANTASTIC and I was able to get her and Mario's autographs. I didn't even know who Michael Park was - I was up in the rear balcony so neither my friend nor I realized it was Jack from As the World Turns until AFTER the show - and my friend follows the show RELIGIOUSLY so he was thrilled and he got his autograph as well.

Christine was so sweet. Her voice was hoarse outside but she gladly signed. God bless her. What a performer. Most people in the finest of health couldn't even graze the kind of grandeur she displayed tonight.

The amazing Christine Ebersole as sick as she was stopped to sign Playbills and take pictures Thursday night. A Trouper with a capital "T" she looked so tired when she came out, but put on a smile and was cheery for all of her fans waiting at the Stage Door. (Not like Margo Channing who had left during Curtain Call for the local gay bar).

i stage door-ed Patti in Gypsy in July there and its very easy to find, just go through the breezeway that will take you to the rear of the building and you can get there quick...
christine is usually very good about stage doors

Let me add to the "Applause" for Christine last night. What she did absolutely defied logic, both on stage and off.

I would not have blamed her one bit for leaving right away last night, considering the condition she was in. She just refuses to let down her fans.

I got to meet and get pictures a lot of the cast at the stage door, including Chip Zien, Tom Hewitt (who remembered me from the DRS tour in Baltimore), Erin Davie ,Megan Sikora, Mario Cantone, Kate Burton, and Sarah Jane Everman (who remembered me from Unlock'd, The Apple Tree, and The Kennedy Center's Mame).

I also noticed Victoria Clark exiting the theater last night while I was at there. I can't wait to meet her next month after Juno.
