The 2013 revival, aside from being critically panned, also had the “final tour stop” curse where the set had been plopped in from the road and not retrofit for the massive Marquis, as well as a cast that had already been exhaustively playing the roles for 8+ months.
Even if this was Wildhorn’s most commercially viable show, I don’t see any of his properties taking to Broadway any time soon - maybe Encores! at best.
A few years ago, I saw the stage adaptation of YOUR LIE IN APRIL (another manga) in London and the whole show, down to the score, was an atrocity
