Labor Day weekend is always beneficial for Broadway, and it was no exception this year.

Happy trails to Ana Gasteyer, Nathan Levy, Ivy, Jacqueline B. Arnold, Eddie Cooper, and hopefully just a see-you-later to Isaiah Johnson as Christopher Jackson returns to HAMILTON tonight.

Broadway Week starts tonight as well, so the numbers will hit rock bottom for 2025 from here, until the Columbus Day weekend.

Has there been any reporting on what the weekly operating costs for Paranormal Activity are? They are nearly selling out each show, but continue to have a low average ticket price in order to get there. And I can't imagine sales really rocketing up much past the 800K point until we get to October and Halloween season (and after that they will likely settle back down to the 700-800K levels). I wonder if there's any chance they break even.

I am continually shocked that &Juliet hasn't announced closing yet. I suspect Roundabout must have given them a huge deal on rent in order to keep money coming in (I hear the Sondheim has a new tenant lined up for the spring, so I'm sure they want to try and keep the & Juliet rent coming in instead of having a huge gap). The new cast for Rocky Horror isn't quite doing the numbers they hoped for.

Nice to see Hadestown get a big boost. It's some of the most exciting casting they've had in a bit.

A few things on ROCKY HORROR:

1) The new cast isn’t fully assembled yet considering the lead is still the understudy (albeit quite good in an offbeat way). Jake Shears doesn’t start until 9/11 and so next week’s grosses won’t read any tea leaves either.

2) Anticipating a drop in sales, the show dropped many ticket prices (including many dates on TDF), but most performances are still sold out or close to it.

3) Spooky season will be here before you know it, so shows like Rocky Horror, Lost Boys, and Paranormal Activity will all be in their prime to cash in.
