It's a well know fact that Tarzan was a huge flop on Broadway, BUT it was a hit in Holland and is still a huge succes in Germany, so I think this show deserved it to be mentioned.
"I think they need to either remove the Duke completely or make more evil. The Duke has no point to the movie at all. Yes, he was the cover up for Hans, but he didn't do anything evil at all, minus sending guards to kill Elsa. He didn't try to steal the riches or trade goods like they said that he wants to. He just does nothing. The prophecy was much more interesting and useful than him."
Once Upon a Time did make the Duke more evil in their version.
What would you think about Rosie playing one of the trolls on broadway? It sounds like she wants too.
As for the special, even though it was an commercial I did find the behind the scenes stuff interesting.
I was so excited for this celebration. I love Disney on Broadway. I am a big fan of Thomas Schumacher and his passion for theatre and theatre education. I have seen The Lion King twice on Broadway, Newsies once and Aladdin twice. I collect the Disney on Broadway coffee table books. I was WAITING for this to screen :)
This was just one big commercial of product-pushing.
There were some interesting moments (like seeing Thomas Schumacher showing the props in the DTG offices) but the pop singers, and skipping so many shows (whether successful or not) did not feel like an authentic 'celebration' of Disney on Broadway.
Actually, more interesting as a backstage look and celebration of the show is the 24-minute Backstage Pass for Aladdin on Broadway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2QkcGcnpB8
