wow..what's caused the sudden resurgence in interest in the show? Along with this, there are 3 theatres in my area that are producing "Oliver!" as part of their seasons this year!

I'm cool with finding boys to play Oliver through a TV show, but I'm very sadden by the fact they are also looking for Nancy, especially after Mackintosh produced a revival about 12 years ago with the incomparable Sally Dexter as Nancy.

My guess is because I think I heard Cameron Mackintosh say in an interview it's his favourite show. And it was actually his production that got Boublil into musical theatre (or was it Shonberg?) Nonetheless, I'm not a big fan myself.
