The Sadie Hawkins Day Ballet from Li'l Abner is brilliant.
It was arranged by Genevieve Pitot, one of the best, and musical directed by Lehman Engel.

adding to the others....
"Rumble" from West Side Story (the film version sounds "darker" and jazzier)
""Dance at the Village Vortex" from Wonderful Town (OBC is funky and fun)
"Mazurka" on the original Candide
"Entr'acte" from OBC of Cabaret
for "changing" stuff.... "Overture" to Mama
and the "Overture" to Irma La Douce
If you want to use something non-Broadway, there is an amazing track on Ernest Gold's filmscore for "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World". I've used it on a couple of projects, and it is called "Away We Go" (which makes it SORT of B'way, since that was the original title of "Oklahoma!")

Posted: 10/25/10 at 1:13pmHas anyone mentioned the "Oklahoma!" ballet sequence? That's a lovely piece, I think, and covers a variety of genres and has tone changes throughout which would make for dramatic lighting changes as well.

For something slightly diffferent, I would recommend a dance from "First Impressions," if you're looking for something with a period piece flavor. It's not too long, it's sprightly, with a lot of fifes, and quite charming.
Also upbeat and tuneful with some changes in mood, not too long, is "Sauce Diable" from "Jennie."
And an interesting mood piece is "Greenwillow Walk," from "Greenwillow," which lasts only a minute or so.
