Despite some Casting problems and the endless schticky moments with the shepherds and trickster (Thank God for Steven Skybell), I liked it…I really liked it! Hell, I’ll go to anything with Lily Rabe. And she was really electric here.

I know Shakespeare had to appeal to the groundlings, but some of the “low humor” is just annoying as hell.

But it’s a solid Shakespeare in the park. Lovely evening

This was much better than I expected it to be. Enjoyed the evening despite it's longer running time.

This one was significantly better than the Romeo & Juliet earlier this season. Sullivan handled this trickier show much better than Ali's misguided R&J.

I also liked this one a lot more than I was expecting to. Maybe my expectations were just on the floor. I found Rabe quite breathtaking.

Did the Obies ever award Shakespeare in the park performances? In this case they definitely should. Hell, she should get an award for the best looking statue in New York City.

Obie's, Drama League & Drama Desk have nominated shows and performers from Shakespeare in the Park shows. Twelfth Night and N'yongo were nominated for awards last year.
