Re: A Few Good Men - Rest of the Cast?

I’m honestly glad they went with a group of working New York actors instead of stuffing it unnecessarily with more celebrities. Also, is this Krysta’s first straight play on Broadway?

She had a featured role in The Collaboration at MTC a few years ago.

I think "The Collaboration" with Jeremy Pope and Paul Bettany was her first straight Broadway play.

She was barely in The Collaboration.

Pretty disappointing. There had to have been someone else in the mix they lost. Cannot imagine Rodriguez being the first pick.

Hopefully Whitford and Blyth and the title alone are enough. I'm not so sure. Announcing end of day - on a Tuesday is ... interesting - and perhaps, telling.

Also worth noting that Gabriel Mann — 1/3 of The Rescues (THE LOST BOYS) — is credited with original music for this revival.

She's best friends with Michael Arden and his husband. They even all lived together for a time. I bet she was his choice and he could use his clout to cast her.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Yes, you're right. Forget that they are friends and did that outdoor show upstate.

Pretty sure clout wasn't needed. She's cheaper than a name would be and this a limited run. Sure LCT was happy for the savings.

It's just not exciting unfortunately.

Perhaps Santiago or Martkinson will, for no reason at all, also 'trust-fall' backwards into an elevated hole.

that's not a good sign.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Michael Braugher! I saw him as Hamlet at the Guthrie - he was very good! Glad to see him booking other substantial parts.

If you're not excited about seeing Krysta Rodriguez on a Broadway stage, then I don't know what to tell ya.

Not exciting for YOU. You bitter, hating troll of a theater lover. I hope she earns a Tony nomination just to shut you up. You talk like you really have the keys to kingdom of theater. Id love to see you act in something. Oh wait, thats probably not exciting for any of us.

Re: A Few Good Men - Rest of the Cast?

When they cast celebrities, we complain that the commercialization of Broadway is so unfortunate, and what about working theater actors who have put in the time and have the talent, etc

But when they cast actors who have been on Broadway for 20+ years in a variety of roles, when the Broadway star but non-celebrity get the gig, we complain anyway?

Insufferable.

Yes I am sure that Arden and the producers were hoping for Taylor Swift to make her debut, but once they settled on non-celeb talent, why are we not excited to see what Rodriguez can do?

Re: A Few Good Men - Rest of the Cast?

It's not about non-celeb talent. They have celebs in the show already. Because from Smash Tv, The Collaboration, Smash on Broadway etc etc. she has never proved to be that exciting on stage. always the same. Serviceable and in the loop. in this case, the loop is being friends with Arden.

This is correct. Not exciting for ME. Try not being hateful and calling names. It's a chat board. I do not have the "keys to the kingdom". You're funny - and only triggered by, and have opinions on, very specific things ENSEMBLE ----95. The jig is up on who you get upset about / are connected to - there must be reasons why...

Excited to see the rest of the cast, and maybe she will be prove effective - BUT as a first choice (without friendship connection) this, from my experiences - on paper - isn't adding much value. The other two leads are at least interesting choices. Rodriguez is a bland one. was hoping for better and interesting choice. just An opinion.
