Raise your hand if you've already got your tickets at the Ziegfeld for November 23rd... Will I see any of you at the 10:15 show?

Funny this came up... I think idina sucks on the new record. She sounds sloppy and unrehearsed. And Tracy is no comparison to fredi. Has anyone ever heard, on a karaoke CD, the track that includes a guide vocal? This is a studio singer who's paid $50 do do a vocal, so people can "learn" from it? This is exactly what Tracy sounds like. A boring, mediocre version of Fredi. Add to that Idina's Wicked-esque gasping, and the new TMOLM sucks.

On the other hand, the new Glory, Rent, What You O

RENT - Onstage in London (IMPORTANT)
 Oct 7 2005, 08:13:44 PM
Hi All,

This is the weirdest question, but if there's anyplace to get an answer, this is it...

Okay, so has anyone ever seen a production of RENT in the U.K.? If so, I am wondering if the British actors in the show speak and sing with an American accent. I'm curious, because British accents are so important here onstage and in film. One would think that a musical about a bunch of new Yorkers wouldn't star a bunch of Brits with accents.

Does anyone have an definitive i

yeah, i'm kind of pissed that it's not happening in NY again... I was one of the 10 finalists last year and have been waiting for the opportunity to knock some 13 year old girls singing "popular" in their teeth.... just kidding. No I'm not.
re: Idina in Provincetown

To follow up the post that started this thread... I saw Idina walking around town with Taye on Sunday morning. You have to understand, those of you who haven't been to P-Town, there's really one street in the town, Commercial, where all of the action is. It's all galleries, shops and restaurants. When an artist plays there, it's a generally accepted rule that thy're going to walk around town and attract attention. Ptown has 40,000 tourists on any given summer day, and all of the acts, from Marga

Just got back from her opening night in Provincetown. She was ****ing awesome. Ha Ha to all of you fools who aren't here to see her in a venue that only holds 180 in a town where she's walking up and down Commercial street all day. Great Great show. No gasping either.

re: 'As I Am' Favorite Tracks?

I'm still thinkin' it's all about jesus. When I bought Faith Hill's Breathe in 99 and first heard "It Will Be Me" I didn't even think of no Jesus, it just sounds like a love song. But couldn't any love song be to JC? Think about it... BTW did anyone go to the Tower Records instore yesterday? Any comments/pics?

When you put aside all of the stuff about jesus and his marvelousness and the heavenly father and all, it's actually a very good album. Cheno is mega-talented, we all know this, and those who deny it still know it. "Word of God Speak" is a great song, it's cool to hear Cheno rockin' out, even if it is about hearing paranormal voices... I mean jesus. I actually prefer the bootleg Rosie version of "Taylor" but this one is growing on me. Feel free to flame me now.

Some very good feedback. I agree with most of you... I do not and should not feel bad for Ashlee Simpson. She has zero talent, and if she were, for example, playing Elphaba, this board would be merciless on her. The blood would flow in a river down the main street of BWW.com. Son of a Gunn is right... Americans are getting tired of prefab packaged model-types having singing careers. Perhaps America has finally woken up and realize that it misses real vocalists like Karen Carpenter and Donny Hath

I was there last week during the 39% attendance, lol. I got upper balcony tix at half of (basically for about $17 each) and since there were about 14 people there, they closed the balcony and I ended up getting sat 2nd row mezz center (which are the $101 seats). All in all a pretty good deal, I saved 83%. I actually enjoyed the show, it was definitely fun. I can totally see why it's closing, but it was one of those fun special effects shows that's just visually stimulating. The ushers at that pe
Seating at the Majestic

Hi All,

Does anyone have any input as to the best location in the Majestic to see Phantom? I usually prefer Mezz, but there are definitely shows and theatres that have certain areas which are better than others.

Thanks and Happy New year to all!!

Oh my ****ing god, like who cares if people post things over and over again? This is a free community, do we have to be so vicious? People need to lighten up. No one on here is the boss, and if people see a thread that they're not interested in (Such as BroadwayGuy and anything Wicked) perhaps they should just not read it.

I for one could care less if people don't like what other people write. The point of this board is to say whatever the **** you want and anyone who has a problem wit
