"What is the hand on the bottom half of the logo supposed to mean?" I reckon it's a reference to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, Gary Indiana. Just a guess, though.

The 1995 awards, when Kathleen Turner was so tired/jetlagged/sozzled that she said 'Nineteen Ninety ...' and awarded Ralph (not 'Raife') Fiennes the Tony? That was live.

Oh, Weez, you are so right. And as bad as Elaine's singing is on that one ("just gotta get right outa here-yore"), it's the London Philharmonic galumphing through Brian May's guitar solo that made me long for sweet, sweet death.

I always figured it was a reference to 'White people sending Black people to fight the Yellow people to defend the land they stole from the Red people'. Or they just wanted Dylanesque cred.

re: Baritone? Tenor? Jul 29

Also, the terms are properly used to describe a particular role, not a given singer's voice. For exmaple, in Tosca, Scarpia is a baritone role and Cavaradossi is a tenor role. It's perfectly feasible, although unlikely, than one male singer could play both parts if he had the range, the tonal colours and the acting chops required.

While you're at it, Dreamworks should look at The Road to El Dorado: The Musical. Minus the Elton John/Tim Rice songs, of course - but keep Kevin Kline.

Just goes to show, Yip Harburg knows when it's time to rhyme with 'Oz', and Schwarz knows it's always rhyme-time. With anything.

I hate bad rhymes, but logic flaws drive me crazy. For example: "No wizard that there is or was ... " Why would she care about wizards who no longer exist? The sentiment should be "No wizard that there is or ever will be", but rhyme-whore Schwarz needs to rhyme with "Oz". On the subject of Sunset Boulevard, here's Michael Walsh's review from time.com: "Some of the lyrics, though, have got to go. To have Joe sing that L.A. has changed a lot "since those brave
