I don't know about the other shows that involve kids but for SOR they do have police officers plus the guardians at the stage door to look after the kids due to the amount of them and the fact that second to Alex, they are the stars. I would add, that I did see a video of what I believe was SOR stage door and all you saw were a group of the kids and what looked to be fans crowding waiting taking pics and parents trying to pick their kids up. I think what happened is when he left Matilda last year sometime in February, the off broadway workshop didn't start until the end of April. So he probably gained weight during that time. He ask the Creatives if he should gain weight they said " you're wonderfully out of shape" so No. And then they had another break from June to Sept. which he probably gained weight again from not being active and then lost it when rehearsals started. &nb

As a fellow minority I don't see any problem. I bet if there was a blonde haired girl playing the role she would be called, "blondie" or "goldilocks" or "Britney Spears". If she was black, "Oprah" or "Tyra Banks". As for the stereotype, Summer in the movie is "high achiever I-want-it-all math-genius", and they kept to that, so whoever plays it will portray those character traits.

I believed I read that the UK has strict child entertainments laws, so they will have to have 3 separate child cast (3 guitarist, bassist, drummers, and pianist) plus the non playing instrument kids. I don't think they will have a problem finding kids who play piano but the rest will be challenging. I think they should cast kids and basically put them in rock school like they did with Billy Elliot.

I totally agree with FireBolts. I really hope Ciana Pelekai gets the part, she's amazing and has such a beautiful voice and has a Hawaiian/Polynesian accent.

I believe Lesli, Matt, Allison are leaving Sept. 6. I'm not sure if Geoff is leaving along with them that day but I do know he is leaving. As far as the kids, 7 out of the 12 current ensemble kids (possibly more) are leaving Aug. 30 6 of the 7 have titled roles (i.e. Lavender, Bruce, etc.) and the 1 is a swing. So if you're going Labor day weekend you will be basically seeing a new child ensemble cast and possibly some new principle adult cast. If I
