An all black 'God Of Carnage' ? Mar 12
2010, 12:52:35 AM
But race Does factor into the play. So does sexual orientation. Not that those lines--those of you who have seen the show know which I am referring to--won't become More interesting due to gay or black casting decisions.

re: Steady Rain rush? Dec 3
2009, 12:37:46 AM
I know this is an annoying question but once you've secured your ticket in the morning, can you get to the theater at like 7:50 to pick up your actual ticket, or do you have to be there AT 7:30?

re: I don't get it, a question about discount codes V buying at full price Aug 19

I got a half-off discount ticket to God of Carnage, and sat front row center. It's one of my greatest achievements.

Do we think there will be a student rush, or discount tickets, or are those mezz seats it for seeing this cheaply?

re: Kutcher to Star in LaBute's FAT PIG? Jun 17
2009, 02:10:20 PM
Yes, this play is LaBute's best. It's one of my very favorite contemporary plays. But, if Kutcher has to be in it, then I don't want it revived. And, Nikki Blonsky? She's way too young for Helen. The interesting thing is that there isn't really a big name actress of that size and age.

Norman Conquests extension? Jun 16
2009, 06:57:15 PM
I remember there was much talk of this, now it's pretty close to closing, and there hasn't been an announcement. Any chance of this?

I sat front row, and it was great. No vomit hit me, but something else did. (don't want to give anything away!)

I saw it too-- I'm a huge fan of Coen's work, although I did not see Almost an Evening. I completely agree with the OP--amatuerish, jokey... in a word, sucked.

I was there too, they were in my peripheral vision, and he was holding his hand so hardcore that I literally thought he might be jerking him off, until I actually looked over. Literally. No joke at all.

re: 33 VARIATIONS Reviews Mar 9

I hate how Colin Hanks is in the front of the picture, when his character is the least important/substantial, even just in terms of stage time, out of the four characters seen on the playbill.

re: Phylicia Rashad to take over as Violet Weston Mar 5

I vote for re-casting all of the Weston roles with black actors--the Steppenwolf ensemble has several really great black actors in its ensemble. Ora Jones could be a great Mattie Fae, Jon Michael Hill could do Little Charles...who knows, May 26 is a ways away, they could already be planning that. I think it would be interesting.
