I (believe it or not) just saw my first real musical- the Lion King- about a month ago, and all the way through Circle of Life I was sobbing!! SOBBING! I was in the fourth row and I could swear two hyena's and both Mufasa and Rafiki were looking if I was ok again at curtain call.. (sobbing!)

It's funny how people either absolutely hate or totally love RENT.. And I always wondered about Cats, everyone was talking about how monumental it was and all, but I saw the dvd a few months ago and wasn't exactly raving about it. The dancers are amazing but the rest of it.. hmm! Anyway, I'm in love with Chicago (as everyone), and Songs for a New World - but I've seen neither one on stage so I have nothing to compare it to.

Yah about the scatting, I think in the revival they made it more 'gospely' for Lilias White.. don't know about the original though.

I know that over here (the Netherlands) for the first half of the show, adult Nala stays backstage getting ready, but I don't know about the rest of them or how that goes at the Broadway production.. Yeah young Nala was a baby elephant over here too! (didn't you guys think that was the best number in the entire show? *sigh..)

re: Which Broadway Musical would You like to perform in and as what Character? Jan 21

:) Who wouldn't..? I'd like to do H2$ one day.. as ms Jones, I think - besides Rosemary and Smitty. Though I doubt I'd be a good Rosemary.. And something like Songs for a New World. Or the Color Purple, but I'm like the whitest it gets without being blonde. Damn it. (Oo, or Zazoo in the Lion King!) Short version: I'd do anything. Period.

I'm slightly missing the offensiveness of this too.. Or am I getting used to gay-unfriendliness?

(Nah, I'm not in for the Harley either.. Too 'up there', not grounded at all. How can you be into anyone you can't relate to?)

Well you could read it like Someone You'd Go Straight For.. Like going straight for the cookies? Am I making sense? I love Bebe Neuwirth.. And Taye. (wow this question, offensive or not, is so confusing when you like both boys and girls!)
