I have seen Ruined twice, it was excellent. Now that it has won the Pulitzer what are the chances that it will move to Broadway?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I feel like it's extended quite a bit.

I wish it had moved to Broadway this season. I don't think it will now. It would have to wait a while, and it's not like it'll be "tinkered" with. So what's the point at this point?

It's extended through May after originally setting a run through late March.

MTC voluntarily chose not to bring this one to Broadway.

Ruined is good but even with the Pulitzer it is not an easy sell. The topic is not a crowd-pleaser. If it were to move at all, it would be off-Bway. It requires stagehands to change the sets and set the props plus there are what, nine actors onstage? That's a lot.

Business may pick up strongly and it could extend past the current close date of May 10 at MTC Stage One at City Center. That building will be open through June. Let's wait and see.

Moving to Broadway is not all that easy since a whole new set would need to be designed and built and a new lighting plot done. Then the money would have to be raised.
