I can do a great impression of Adam Pascal's voice which is even worse now since i saw him a few days ago in AIDA. I wish I could do the impression ever the computer. Sarah Brightman is gold!!!! She is better than all of you!!! I dont like her as a soprano or singing Memory but I like some of the low stuff written for her like "Captain Nemo" and "Only An Ocean Away"
i've only really heard sarah brightman sing parts of songs but right now she is on AOL radio singing "Memory". I totally agree. Her rendition leaves much to be desired. Her lower notes are pretty good, but when she goes high it makes my ears bleed. I almost can't tell what the lyrics are because its so shrill.
I hate Frances Ruffelle's voice. The first rendition of On My Own I heard was Sutton Foster's. I thought, well this is nice, I like this song. I decided to buy the cast recording. When I heard Frances Ruffelle sing it I thought it was terrible and wondered why I wasted 20 dollars on the cast recording.
Moo with me! And I was Elphaba the Good so if anything that I post sounds like her, it's because I am her!
Adam Pascal - I swear, he sounds like a constipated Elton John....and i can think of several people on this board who are going to want to choke me for saying that.
If you read the linear notes to rocky horror (or an article i dont remember) they talk about how Raul's voice was dubbed and changed to sound creepy. it isnt all his voice. As for Idina, the woman is amazing, her voice is to die for. Kristin as talented as she is, it's jsut her voice in general that pisses me off. But the people I really can't stand are Bernadette Peters, and Michael Crawford. O too much of a bad thing. also lets not forget Jennifer Westfeldt. oy.
"will you be my friend, when everything ends?"-drift (jeremy schonfeld)
If you've never heard Idina scream, you didn't watch the Tonys this year. "So if you care to find ME," was even remotely sung (there was no pitch on "me").
Go see Wicked on a Wed night or later in the week: unless she's sick, she'll usually give you the most amazing experience ever! There is no screaming. I thought she screamed when I first heard the CD, and when I saw it on a Tues night, but then I read what she wrote about her own ability, and I found out why she said she gets better later in the week. There was NO screaming! It was the most amazing thing I've seen in my life! And this is from a voice teacher (not a vocal coach, I focus on technique, which is the difference).

I meant voice teacher. Same thing. I certainly hope your teacher teached you technique because that's very common for voice teachers to do. It the one's that can't get it right that are the problem.
Okay, who played Lucy in the revival of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown"? She may be the singular worst singer I have ever heard. Loud, grating, ever so slightly off-key. Nails across a blackboard sound better than this woman.
Out of all the Eponines I've heard (I've seen the show 4 times, each time with a different Eponine, plus I have the OBC, I saw the concert w/Lea Salonga and Ive heard a bootleg of Sutton Foster singing On My Own) Frances Rufelle was the worst. She pronounces words weird. Instead of saying him she says heem. It irritates me.
Isn't Lucy suppossed to have that annoying voice? I thought that was the character. I don't think they would have hired someone that bad if it was suppossed to sound good.
I'm irritated a tad by Kristin Chenowith but I really do adore her. Also on some parts of Sherie Rene Scott singing on L5Y get to me even though she has an amazing vocal range. Just me probably. Jen Cody remains at the top of my list as most annoying. Not just voice but person wise me thinks.
I think this thread possesses many an irritating voice.
