i can try to note all the changes, ill try to think about it and post something :) ive been posting a lot of the changes its just all spread out throughout the thread
--tonight is the real opening night..wish i could go i had nobody to go with (although lauren said go alone i dont think id feel comfortable) but i might stop by tomorrow or thursday!
yes please do list the changes.especially the sets.and is so much better all the same? does the bridge rise at the end when the girls spell out "elle woods"?
ok so im going to the tour again friday (im almost positive haha) so ill definitely take notes & whatnot
so much better was pretty much the same with the bridge, except theyre a delta nu short so they hold up a bag for 's' in 'woods'..i really didnt like that part >.<
ew.i hate the idea of a bag for the letter"s" they couldnt make colleen learn that part? like they did in san-fran. or put a guy in drag like on broadway?
I'm fairly sure colleen is up there already. The only cast member really available thats not on stage in the scene is natalie.
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
i pray to god that they add something different instead of the bowling bag by the time the show comes to buffalo. and what does the sorority house look like now? without the house fly and second floor?
how was becky as elle?! i only saw her in the ensemble...
"I turned the corner, and there you stood, your smile like home to me, your heart familiar. No use pretending, not that I could, I turned the corner when I met you" -Thoroughly Modern Millie
i still have to post a list, but the main changes: -'hey wait for me' was taken out -the dance in omigod you guys -no sorority house, the door is on stage right and they dance around on stage left -no door scene in 'legally blonde' -the room is smaller, she changes offstage and not through the curtain -three lyric changes: 'fightings not a delta nu, who knows what the hell shell do some jcrew kung fu' (i butchered it but i cant remember it off the top of my head!), 'where the highland bagpipes drone' and they changed 'plese will you open the door' i forget to what though!
i went again last night..i thought it was so much better (no pun intended), even though there were 2 set malfunctions (during take it like a man the door almost fell backwards and when they were dancing in the remix the curtain started falling!) but besides that it was really great..the DA had an understudy, first understudy of the tour, so they were rushing around trying to teach her everything..but im excited for everyone else to see it!
Stacey Sargeant was out of the show again on Friday, replaced for the second time by Leslie McDonel as the Store Manager and the Judge (not the DA, as misidentified above). Leslie had a couple of minor line stumbles on Thursday, but was fine on Friday. In answer to an earlier inquiry, the DA is played by Sarah Marie Jenkins. According to Equity rules, understudies are to have their own costumes for roles that they cover. It's likely that the understudy costumes are still "in process." The first actual understudy rehearsal was on Thursday, even though, as Nick Dalton has mentioned in his blog, some understudies, including Sara Andreas as Brooke and himself in several roles, had been called upon to fill in at several tech run-throughs due to injuries, etc., and got through the parts fine, despite no actual prior rehearsal. I saw the show in Providence for the 3rd time tonight....and I am going tomorrow night too. I am guessing that I will be in LB withdrawal by Sunday morning.
Leslie was fine in Stacy's parts, but POOR STACY....get well soon!
Some observations.
Someone, towards the end of Whipped Into Shape tonight, totally stopped jumping rope, and sort of just walked off stage. ???
I am really starting to like D.B. Bonds as Emmett.
Sorry to say this, but I don't like the actor who is playing Warner too much. Can't really say why, except he reminds me of Donny Osmond a little, and doesn't seem quite right in the role.
I am watching Rhiannon Hansen get better every day as Margot! She seems to be channeling her inner "Annaleigh", and it is working! The only thing I don't care for is that she is "stuck" holding Bruiser in his bag during the entire courtroom scene, and it looks awkward....like she's afraid she'll drop him, or afraid he'll jump out of the bag. She looks uncomfortable. She cracks me up when the Greek Chorus first arrives! When she says "We are here to help!" she is SO FUNNY!
I still love Megan as Vivienne! Totally different from Kate (who I also love!) She's just a little "bitchier" ....and less "haughty". And she is a great singer too!
Becky is SO good.....she gives me chills! Absolutely the right choice for Elle Woods.
One more actor to mention, then I am going to bed!
Alex Ellis is such a funny girl! Her Chutney is as good, if not better, than Kate Wetherhead, who was a RIOT!
See the tour if you can, you will absolutely not be disappointed!

i totally know what you mean about rhiannon! i remember seeing her and being like woahhh annaleigh! which i love because shes my favorite margot so far!
and i know what you mean about warner..something about it is kinda off, idk what it is though.
cortney as serena - AMAZING. i love tracy jai, and if possible i think cortney makes a better serena then she does. shes absolutely hilarious
natalie as paulette - obviously shes not orfeh, and its hard to watch it without her...but i think natalie does a great job with the role - and she has a set of pipes! wow! haha
overall the show is definitley growing on me..i saw it on sunday (and i saw the NYC version saturday) so i wasn't too thrilled, then i saw it again on thursday and thought it was even better..im going to see it tonight too! haha
* I didn't notice the "walk-off" during "Whipped Into Shape" because I was watching Lauren, whom I hadn't noticed in the number at previous performances -- there are considerably more men than women doing the routine. In fact, the one that Brooke reprimands for dogging it is a man, referred to as "Dana." Lauren was doing fine. She also does a nice cartwheel earlier in the show as a Delta Nu.
* Total agreement on D.B. Bonds -- he is excellent as Emmett: charming, likeable, funny (e.g. the Red Bull bit), and a strong singer.
* I can understand Colleen's reservations about Jeff McLean as Warner. He's okay, but tends to play the character as a bit too much of an obvious doofus. I think we need to believe that Warner, despite his obvious flaws, is a bright guy.
* Rhiannon, as was constantly noted on the "Search for" show, is just a joy to watch. She has tons of energy and is obviously enjoying herself every second. And her singing -- a concern on the program -- has been rock solid.
* I agree about Becky: she is completely comfortable with everything Elle has to do in the show and gives the show the core it needs at its center.
I echo Colleen's observations on Megan, and also on Alex Ellis, whose Kate is adorable as well.
One additional mention: The audience absolutely loves Ven Daniel as Kyle, and those who don't read their programs probably don't realize that the same actor is playing Dewey. Updated On: 9/27/08 at 10:34 AM
all the merchandise is the same (minus a few things..the poster and stuff) and they also added an adorable fake tiffanys heart bracelet that has engraved 'legally blonde the musical' but i talked to the merch guy and he said they did a photoshoot with becky a few days ago so there might be new merchandise
im not positive about the inside of the program - but ill look :)
