HAIRSPRAY again ! It still is the best show on Broadway, isn't it ? :) But seriously, I'd love AVENUE Q to win ! I haven't seen either it or WICKED, but i much prefer AVENUE Q's cast recording.
"[My son]'s really into my music, but one day we were listening to Billy [Joel] in the car and he said, 'Daddy, I think Billy's songs are a little better than yours." (Michael Cavanaugh)
movin' out was definitely last year. it won best choreography and best orchestrations... maybe more but those are the ones I remember. What do we think will be nominated for best revival? Assassins, Fiddler and Little Shop probably. I'm not sure, is Wonderful Town a Revival?
Wicked, just like everyone else in the free world. It's impossible to escape it!
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
Why would you have trouble with a puppet show winning Best Musical? If you thought a particular show (and it doesn't have to be Avenue Q) contained outstanding writing and an outstanding score, featured strong performances and was expertly designed, directed and choreographed, would you deny it any consideration for Best Musical because many of the actors used puppets to represent the characters?

It'll NEVER happen, but I would love to see "Caroline or Change" win best musical. The only musical on right now that has some ambition and just isn't trying to be dippy, fizzy fun.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
