Avenue Q (for the third time) this past Sunday evening and it was just as wonderful as it was the first time I saw it!

Big River on last Sunday (1/16) matinee and evening shows in Los Angeles. I'll be seeing Big River seven times in a month (crazy!).

It is expensive...more than what they were charging for The Lion King, in fact (yet infinately more worth it). I don't know of any discount codes. I saw it for free (!) through a friend who works for Best of Broadway. :)
I can say, though, that if you buy a "cheap" seat in the balcony, it would be ok for this one. It's an intimate show, but it plays well in the Curran.

The truly beautiful should be lawfully restricted from wearing clothing; and the truly butt-ugly should be lawfully mandated from going naked.

Posted: 1/20/05 at 11:13amI saw Spamalot in Chicago yesterday (1/19/05). I never really was a Monty Python fan, but this show was incredible. It will sweep the Tony Awards this year.

Posted: 1/20/05 at 1:40pmThe UK tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. It was quite good. The u/s Judas was on and he wasn't hitting the optional high notes which was a shame. The u/s Simon Zealotes was on and he was terrific - best I've seen or heard. The staging was interesting (although cheap - typical of a Kenwright production).

Some moments were still being discovered by the actors and several numbers/scenes could have been (and probably have been) cut down, but the small cast the wonderous (sans one of the older women, and I ain't talkin' about Ms. McGovern), the music was fresh, and the set blew me away.

Last show: Good Vibrations on Monday. Feel-good singing and dancing show, but weak plot.
Next show: Wicked on February 1st. 7th time!
