On Broadway--Movin Out and Wicked.
Not on Broadway--our local rep's production on Children of Eden with William Solo. Really well done!

In Raleigh, I saw a community theatre production of Cinderella... and then the travelling Cirque Dreams.
But, I was in NYC in October and saw---
* Hairspray
* Brooklyn
* Rent (for the 7th time, hah!)
And I'm going back in March to see---
* The Lion King
* Wicked

I saw Spamalot on the first day of the year.
Last weekend I saw a community theatre production of Beauty and the Beast, the first community theatre production of that show in Illinois.

In NYC - Wicked in December. Taking a group of students up this weekend to see Pacific Overtures.
In D.C.- National tour of Miss Saigon. Former student of mine played the conductor at the Saturday matinee. I love it when my kids come back into town in a production!
Dancersmom2- William Solo is back in Children of Eden? He's so great. When my daughter was a senior in high school she played Yonah. Both Solo and Schwartz sent the cast well wishes.

Forbidden Broadway on Tuesday.
Wanted to catch Christine Pedi as she leaves on Sat.
Her Dame Edna was the best thing i have ever seen her do.
Blew me away. I know she is famous for her Liza but her Dame was even better.
I really almost passed out. She is in another league.

Hmmm... last show I saw -- well I had a double bill in October. I was in London for the Weekend. I saw Phantom in the afternoon -- I had wanted to see John Owen Jones' Phantom, but he was off, so I had the privilege of seeing an excellent performance by Matthew Cammelle. In the evening, I attended the final performance of "Alone Together" Michael Ball's one man show which was part of the Theatre Royal Haymarket's Singular Sensations series. This was a reprise of a show he did at the Donmar Warehouse in 2001, in which he tells the story of a performer's life in song. My favorite part came at the beginning of the second half, when Michael came out and proceeded to do what he has called "the medley from hell." It's 15 minutes of one or two lines from many different songs. It was just amazing!
The last show I saw on Broadway was The Boy From Oz.

Posted: 1/13/05 at 12:25pmI was in the chorus of a concert version of Show Boat Jan, 6-8 and in the churus of Madame Butterfly in October. I saw Forbidden Broadway Summer Shock, Avenue Q and Wicked last July. I can think of no favorite moments because I get to NYC so rarely that the whole experience is usually a giddy blur. =)

Saw Fiddler last night for the fifth time for this revival. I was very disappointed in Harvey Fierstein's rendition. Not only is unable to sing, excuse me, this is a Musical, but the humor is somehow off base. Instead of the comic relief for the pathos of the situation one is almost embarrassed to hear the laughter.
To me the times that I saw Alfred Molina, the show was pure theatre at its best. His energy was dynamic. The one time I saw Mark Lotito was also a joy. Unless they cast a new Tevye, I'll wait for another company to see it again.

Community Theatre: Craig Wright's 'The Pavilion' (the part of the narrator annoyed me; low on production values)
Regional Theatre: 'Proof' (brilliant book & excellent production)

Saw "The Foreigner" off-Broadway early in December. Was hilarious/brilliant/wonderful/filled with Matthew Broderick goodness.
Also, the repertory theatre at my school recently put on "Crumbs From the Table of Joy" and it was, honestly, one of the most beautiful plays I've ever seen. Anyone seen/read/familiar with it?
I guess I haven't seen anything since early December, and nothing musical in awhile (excluding a bad school production of YAGMCB, I think the last musical anything was "Fordbidden Broadway" back in either November or October). Withdrawal?

last night: Noises Off at the Seattle Repertory Theater. Oh my! I don't think I've ever laughed this much in a play. (first time seeing it on stage... saw the movie a long time ago)
a month ago: Lion King - tour - Seattle's Paramount Theater -awesome!
Tonight: Opening night of "A Judas Kiss" at ArtsWest in WestSeattle. Looking forward to it.
