Thanks Tiff. *cries* Do you realize that January 4th will be a year for Cabaret, and the day directly following with be 4 months for AIDA? *cries more*
You know what is annoying me? I love seeing closing nights, they're usually special. But how the hell can I attend all these closing nights this weekend, not even considering all the cast changes? I'm not a happy bunny. It's all about organisation, right? Broadway, get your act together!!!

'He really wasn't good as Fieyro. Is it just me or does he sort of come across as a pimp? Just...the hand motions I've seen him do and the attitude..not that Taye is a pimp.' - SallyBrown on Taye Diggs as Fiyero
"Let the little girl go, and that poor little dog? Dodo." That's my favorite line in the whole show (Wicked). My next favorite line is "Oh! It seems the artichoke is steamed."

There are those who think it is a good thing - out with the old & in with the new. Bottom line is short term you have empty theaters . Long term you may have the same thing if critics continue to rip shows and/or audiences stay away
Unless they decide to extend it, "Pacific Overtures" had always been scheduled to close on January 30th..

Did Pacific Overtures have a limited engagement or something?
(There goes three shows I wanted to see... )

There's a simple reason why a bunch of shows are closing right now- the tourist-rich Christmas/New Year's holiday has ended, and the dead time of winter is about to begin. If you're going to close, now's the time. Attendance is going to be awful for the next couple of months.
Wait, does someone have a link to Pacific Overtures closing? I was just talking to someone today about it. It is one of her favorite shows and she thought it was running until April.
