Without You (which I usually hate in the show, too) La Vie Boheme Tango: Maureen Over the Moon all Life Support meetings
too many...
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

"They're singing, "Happy Birthday"
You just wanna lay down and cry
Not just another birthday, it's 30/90
Why can't you stay 29
Hell, you still feel like you're 22
Turn 30 in 1990
Bang! You're dead, what can you do?"

la vie boheme was unbelieveable. i was bouncing in my seat. also, the life supports were powerful. and one that really stuck out for me was another day. not only do i love that song, but the ending shot of roger on the balcony against his friends in the street was really striking!! Sammy
"...but it was us, baby, who were the lucky ones."
Oh, I'm not sure I can chose but I will list a few: -"La Vie Boheme" rocked my socks off! -"I'll Cover You" reprise had me doing the ugly cry -"Seasons of Love" in the opening....I just liked it:) -The end when Mark showed his film and Angel's face flashed on the screen -When Mimi was going through withdrawal symptoms from the drugs (I think that's what it was) and Roger carried her in his arms to the sofa and held her (I think "Without you" was playing) -The whole tango fantasy scene ...okay, I should stop now....
"Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets."
-Oscar Wilde
My question, When Roger carried Mimi in on the sofa, why didn't he use the balnket that was behind him, i'm probably the only one who noticed this...it just bugged me. But the moment was cute.
I was very worried that I'll Cover You Reprise could have played too "cheesy" on the big screen, but boy was I wrong. I thought it was done perfectly, just as powerful as the stage version. Very well done.
I loved that during Take Me As I Am, all the guests of the party kept following Maureen and JoAnne from room-to-room, trying to listen in on their "argument." Classic.
i thought rosario did a great job with Out Tonight... here is something i didn't like...i LIKED the scene with Mark dreaming the tango..but i think they showed maureen too soon...and i really missed her coming in and saying WHICH WAY TO THE STAGE? i always thought that was hysterical...although the motorcycle entrance was hysterical... i think adam pascal is amazing in this movie as is jessie l martin..i wrote a "review" on Rent advice if anyone is interested..its just my opinions...and its all positive so please don't anyone get mean if you don't agree with me! its just an opinion! i LOVED take me or leave me! sooo funny how everyone followed them around..and i was SOOOOOOO moved by the church scene...jesse L..KICKED IT! amazing! did anyone else laugh when adam was driving to santa fe? and then was on the mountains? it looked like a marlboro commercial! LOL!
too hard to say. i loved the whole movie! i really loved:
-the whole thing with Mark and Mrs Johnson about getting abck together with Maureen! LOL! -Without You (especially when mimi is shivering from the withdrawl in her bathtroom-that just moved me so much. and when roger finds her buying again) -La Vie Boheme -One Song Glory (when April gets her HIV test results back, so moving for such a small clip!) -Marks whole "there are times......and then-they call-and i remember" monologue. i found that quite funny! -Tango: Maureen -and i absolutely LOVED when angel breaks into the loft for them and collins asked "you gonna put that garbage can back?" and angel says all diva-like "no!" -i actually really liked the staging for another day and what you own. i thought WYO was very effective b/c throughout the song when theyre apart theyre basically singing about how theyre alone in life. then they come together and look each other in the eye on the line "youre not alone" just the looks they give each other after they come together were great!
if i dont stop im gonna name every scene in the movie. LOVED IT ALL!

"Out Tonight" was SO kickass. Rosario Dawson was so agressive with it! Hot stuff.
The eyebrow raise before the tango... I can't get Anthony's expression out of my head - oh and then later when he explained where he learned to tango - the barmitzfah or something - very funny.
And of course...
THE CLIFF! I totally got this Ricky Martin.. or even Britney Spears "I'm not a girl not yet a woman" vibe. Wow.
But the movie as a whole was AMAZING. My favorite movie of the year!
So the Cliff thing was totally a music video. I was totally like "Scar Tissue", when the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are driving in their car with their hair blowing in the wind. Good times.
I thought "Out Tonight" was hot stuff. Rosario really impressed me. La Vie Boheme was Kick!
I love Today 4 U. Who am I kidding, Angel/Wilson rocked my socks.
Without You through the end was so moving. So good. Loves it, loves the movie-version.
Tango Maureen rocked! Over the moon- can I just say the best camera angle on the face of the earth is the sucking of the milk!!! La Vie Boheme Take me or Leave me
I must add that I was very disappointed in the life support scenes.....I felt they were too cheesey and coombyah for me...
(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."
over the moon christmas day when jesse says "merry christmas bitches!" omg, i was peeing my pants la vie boheme without you, the scene when roger finds mimi buying drugs again- very well done. I'll cover you reprise- had me in tears the end of "Rent" i thought that was powerful the finale.
and off subject, i thought jesse l. martin was phenomenal in this film. i was really blown away.
God, I can't pick. If you want to go with best cinametography and shots etc, I think Rent and Take Me or Leave Me win that, most moving/chilling: Without You, I'll Cover You-Reprise, Finale, funniest: La Vie Boheme, Tango Maureen and Over the Moon was just plan crazy. :-P I loved it all though. God, Mark's little quirks had me laughing so hard. "Come on, this isn't my bar mitzvah give it back Maureen!" Tehehehe.
I wanted to get something that an "ex"-junkie like him would really appreciate and cherish....it's a brick of heroin shaped like a heart.
