Mine is Rent. It is so moving, the music is great, most actors are great, and everything about is great! My others are Footloose and Aida. Those are just my favs that I have seen. I have favs too that I haven't seen. All the shows I have seen have been tours.

If we are talking currently running:

My favorite show is The Producers but with the L.A. cast, starring the duo of Jason and Martin, not Broadway's current offering.

However, beginning in October I am confident that my #1 recommend will be Wicked, which I saw and enjoyed in San Francisco.

If we are talking all-time favorite:

My all-time favorite are Broadway Musicals are three in no particular order; Hello Dolly, The Lion King, and The Producers.

My perfect day would begin at on the beach in Hana, Maui and end at a Broadway Musical.

Can we pick more than 1? If so...mine are The Scarlet Pimpernel, FM, and DY. But...I may have to add BFO once it starts!

I have seen SP more times than I should or will comment...its actually in the 3 digit range...FM is about 15(btw here and London) and DY is 3.

Excuse me, but didn't I ask this already? See "Only 1 Show to See?"

Hello? RENT and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES?

You folks on drugs? LOL (Just kidding, kids!)

Yours for a better (much much better) Broadway!

I saw most of my favorites when the show toured. Cabaret, The Producers, Fiddler, Les Mis ... Cabaret, though, is probably my favorite of those. I've seen it several times when it toured, and saw it again in New York this winter.

Dollypop, you can have a fav musical even though you haven't seen it! Not all of us live in NYC. There are cast albums, show footage, special appearances, etc. You may hate it when you see it. That is why I separated the ones that I have seen and haven't :)

Thoroughly Modern Millie. I just love everything about this show, the tunes, the choreography, the sets, costumes, and everybody in the cast, especialy the incredibably talented Sutton Foster. I have seen it 3 times so far, and I have tickets for Sutton's final week (front row), and I'll probably go see it at least one more time before then, maybe tomorrow.
PS. It is now tommorow and I have just come back home from seeing Millie for my 4th time. This show just keeps getting better, Leslie Uggams is sensational as Muzzie, and Marc Kudisch and Anne L Nathan both out did themselves. There was a big "awww" from the audience when Jimmy (Christian Borle) said "Funny, I found myself an emerald" indicating there were alot of knowledgable fans at the show. And how much more can I say about Sutton Foster? I just think she is the greatest performer ever. Updated On: 7/16/03 at 09:02 PM

It said on Sutton's Official Site that November 2nd isn't necessarily her last show. The webmaster hinted at her possible extending again. She'll stay as long as they give her more $...just like last time when she was supposed to leave in April or March.

If you are basing your enthusiasm on recordings, then you can have a favorite SCORE, but not a favorite SHOW. Some shows have great scores but dreadful books. Sopme shows have dreadful scores but great books. You have to have SEEN a show before you go bananas over it!

It's a tough choice, but I would have to say my favorite musical so far was "Kiss of the Spiderwoman." Chita is just too, too fabulous! My favorite play I saw was "Indiscretions," even with Kathleen Turner in it!

I never said I go bannanas over a show i haven't seen. I go bannanas over Rent, I have seen it. Im sorry I can't afford to go to NYC! I am going to college there and becoming a lighting designer so, then I'll tell you what I think of the shows!

Phantom of the Opera -- I've seen it 16 times, mostly with Michael Crawford in LA

The Producers -- 10 times.

I'm embarrassed to admit I've seen shows so many times as I might only see a favorite a second or third time. Well, I just liked them. However, I know there are people who will easily exceed my numbers.

Ok...to make this easier on myself I narrowed it down to shows that are currently running. It's a close call between Gypsy and Hairspray. If you would have asked me a few years ago I probably would have said Rent. I guess that show still holds a special place in my heart. It's the only one I've seen multiple times, although I haven't seen it in years.

My all-time favorite musical is a four-way tie (in alphabetical order): "A Chorus Line," "Gypsy," "My Fair Lady," and "West Side Story," all of which I saw in their original productions on Broadway. Of currently-running shows, my favorite is "Thoroughly Modern Millie," which I've seen twice and hope to see again before Sutton Foster leaves. "Millie" is much funnier than "The Producers," and ten times as tuneful!
