Umm... just finished Footloose and Cinderella. Time for.. Corus Line, Cats and maybe Seusical.. and a bunch of excerpts from Thouroughly Modern Millie, Hairspray and Wicked.. WHOO HOO WICKED!!!!!!!
THE FIX? really Matt. I have the cast recording. I have never been all that drawn to it, musically. I love IN TROUSERS though. It's such an interesting piece. I MD'ed FALSETTOS last year. Amazing stuff. I cried all over they keyboard every night. I hope you get to do one of them. Good for you for getting lesser known work out there to your audience!
From the evil she done Lord
Set her free, Set her free, Set me free
Don't let my sorrow
Make evil of me
oh i'm the opposite, wildparty. i really enjoy the music in THE FIX mainly the way it works with the lyrics and subject matter. the whole concept of the show is something that I think should get more chances to be seen, especially by college kids, in an election year no less.
the 2 parts of FALSETTOS are among my favorite shows of all time, musically and otherwise. I love IN TROUSERS for just being so freakin' weird, you never see anything like it. There's such an element of "what the hell?" at the same time that you can easily connect to a lot of what happens.
got my fingers that I can do it this year, preferably this semester. more likely it'll be TROUSER since it calls for less resources and people than THE FIX.
"The last train out of any station will not be full of nice guys." - Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
"I wash my face, then drink beer, then I weep.
Say a prayer and induce insincere self-abuse,
till I'm fast asleep"- In Trousers
I'm working on my high school's competition play right now, play Dr. Livingstone in Agnes of God. Plus I'll be directing one of our one acts starting next week (either the first Plaza Suite scene or The Trysting Place). And then it'll be musical season after Christmas break. Too bad our music director doesn't tell us the musical until after the cast list is up. :P
I have an audition for 42nd Street in a few weeks- After doing West Side I realized that I have to be doing a show at all times...hehe- I was so much happier during the run.
Just in case anyone wants to see them...here are some pictures from my show:
Rath - oooh it sounds like you've got dish!! I'm currently rehearsing my Cabaret Debut to be done at The Duplex in November - Ya'll will be invited soon enough, Possums!
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
Romeo and Juliet. I'm playing Lady Capulet and it's the mosting exhausting play I've ever done in my life. We're a university, so our production is extremely dark and not the typical version you'd see performed in a high school setting.
