A train wreck is usually very bad & has a very short life

Rathnait62 - Some people just like bad shows. Even when they know they are bad. I LOVED The Wedding Singer and many other flops. So why does it matter?

NLS, I've sat through my share of turkeys over the years, and I can't imagine wanting to sit through bad shows on purpose.

I have. (Dance of the Vampires.) and I didn't regret going. Now, I understand why your curious at why someone would do it on purpose, and I really don't have a good answer for it.
I need to add one:

Well, I'm proud (sort of...) to have worked on two of the biggest train wrecks: "Dance A Little Closer" and "The Little Prince And The Aviator". You learn a lot from these sort of experiences, let me tell ya. The Little Prince closed in previews, and Dance A Little Closer closed opening night.
I always wish I had see "Senator Joe", a musical about Joseph McCarthy with music by Tom O'Horgan, who also directed. It closed after only a couple of previews, making it one of the shortest runs in Broadway history.
Behind the fake tinsel of Broadway is real tinsel.

For some reason, I really wanted to see Dance of the Vampires.
Maybe it's because it had my favorite 80s power ballad, Total Eclipse of the Heart, in it...

Many people go to bad shows to be able to boast they saw this turkey or that one
It is like the real reason people go to car races. It is not to see cars going arouna track over & over again. It is for the the accidents & spills etc. Sad but true

I must admit I have been fortunate to catch some flops being that I live 14 hours at least from NYC!!
One I liked and I truly mean I liked it was DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES. I dont mean this in a sadistic I thrive to see a flop way. I think one of the greatest parts behind the show was the technical side. The sets were gorgeous the lighting was incredibly impressive, especially the trick they do during the overture. I did see a preivew so I am not sure how different the final product was. Everyone in the audience seemed to like it and all responded well according to the different circumstances. Yeah, it had its cheesey moments. A lot of people just couldn't figure the show out and therefore blamed the show for having an identity crisis. I totally got what they were going for and therefore enjoyed it tremendously oh and the performances were done very well. Michael Crawford was slightly out of aim for this role but I enjoyed the novelty of him actually performing in front of me. The orchestrations were absolutely beautiful. Sorry this show didnt make it but I thoroughly am glad I was there.
I also saw Dracula. I must admit I didnt have the same kind of experience as I did with DOTV. Even though Wildhorne has his enemies out there and strong disapprovals I have always been drawn to his work. However, I was not thrilled with this piece. Some of the casting was incredibly WRONG!! The music was okay but lacking a lot of what I enjoyed in Frank's music. Maybe it was the arrangements, I don't know. The blocking/Choreography was horrendous. Especially Life After LIfe, HOLY CRAP!!! NOW, once again I did see a preivew so I am not completely sure what the final product was. Dracula had its good parts though, such a sets and special effects. The talent was also good. I am not sure what went wrong here.
I did also see Civil War, not on Broadway but on tour and I thought it was absolutely AMAZING!!! The CONCERTesque take on it was not only very creative but also very effective. The show was filled with so much emotion and umph!! That's it for now let me know if you want to know more?

seen quite a lot of theese shows like carrie,legs diamond,marilyn,good vibrations,dance of the vampires,lestat,dracula etc on a certain format we cant talk about.
wish i had seen carrie on stage though

I forget to mention "Merrily We Roll Along". It has some of Sondheim's greatest songs ever, "Good Thing Going", "Not A Day Goes By" and "Old Friends".
Also, Sondheim's "Wise Guys". It had another one of Sondheim's greatest songs, "A Couple Of Wise Guys", which was cut from "Bounce".

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I'm a big fan of Paul's campy disco records--I believe a few songs from this (Foggy Day?) made it to his albums--though that doesn't mean I think it woulda worked on stage. Still kinda impressive he got it to Broadway seeing his age at the time

I went to IBDB to look up Rachel Lily Rosenbloom...
It closed after 7 previews at the Broadhurst, December 1, 1973. Which incidentally, was the day I saw my first Broadway show. "Irene" with Debbie Reynolds. Not exactly a train wreck.
