I see people are selling autographed Playbills but I'm not sure if I want to part with this. I haven't gotten it signed by all the principal characters yet but I'm working on it.

So far I have:
DERRIK BASKIN
TITUS BURGESS
BRIAN D'ADDARIO
JOHN TREACY EGAN
NORM LEWIS
TYLER MAYNARD

I still need:
SIERRA BOGGESS
TREVOR BRAUN
JONATHAN FREEMAN
EDDIE KORBICH
SEAN PALMER
SHERIE RENE SCOTT

I saw the show in previews and she came out. I don't think she has come out in a very, very long time.

Sherie said in a bway.com interview that she doesn't take photos. Watch the backstage video she did- she explains why.

I saw Mermaid two days after its official January opening, at a matinee. Sherie did not come out and neither did Sierra. However, I saw A Chorus Line that night, and on the way back to the hotel noticed that TLM was just getting out, so we swung by and they were both there, and were lovely. Sherie and I had a nice conversation since we are both Kansas natives, and she said I could take a picture OF her, but not with her.

I've since heard, though, that she doesn't come out anymore. It's a shame, but I can understand why.

HometownGlory...

Yeah I've seen that video and I understand and agree that it's a shame she doesn't come out. I just get really annoyed when some of them do come out of the stage door and totally blow off the kids. These kids get all excited waiting for the actors to come out...and for what...just to get ignored. I've heard several complaints about certain people and I have had that experience myself. UGH!!! It makes me sad for those little kids lol.

I've heard of people sending stuff to the theater to but there's no guarantee that if I send in this robe I'm getting it back...I wouldn't want to take a chance...it's too risky lol. But I'm not really going to make that big of a deal about it since I live close by so I can probably drop by when I'm bored or something lol.

But its is not part of their job to come out. Sure, it may be nice, but we shouldn't get annoyed when they do something we are upset by. It is a privilege for us to meet the actors after a show, not a right.

I think that if they don't want to sign autographs and take pictures(which in my opinion is fine) they sould atleast go through a different exit instead of going out the stage door and just running by, even when people call your name.

Why should they go out a different exit? It's the stage door... that's where they should be coming in and out from. Sure, they shouldn't be rude about it... but why should they be asked to leave from a different door?

From what I have heard from people who opperate the theatre and the stage door, Sherie often goes out on 47th street as it takes her a while to get out of her outfit. I still have to catch her when I get back up to the city. She's hard to catch...in just about any show. Completely ignore what she said in the video interview. It's not true...I love the line that she says how she thinks it's great to lie to kids and how it sets them off on the right foot. Kind of funny...anyway, not one of the ten or so times that I've tried to catch her has she come out the stage door. I had a hard time catching her at Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Some people just don't like doing it. It took me 18 times to catch Megan Mullally at YF and she lied through her teeth to me about coming out all of the time. I told her how many times I was there and she said when did you come last? I came out last night...unfortunately I was there the previous night and no Megan. Roger Bart took 19 tries. Sutton took 20. The best bet is for these people that are hard to catch, try getting them on their way in when no one is there. Sure you have to know what these people look like in normal street clothes and without make-up on, but if you are paying attention, you'll get them. I got Roger and Sutton on their way in and they were more than happy to sign before the show. Only down side is that you have to get there really early sometimes...try asking the people who manage the stage door about when they show up. Some are nice and will tell you, but others are very rude. For an 8 pm show, you might have to be waiting anywhere from 5 pm and onward. Anyhow, I'm going to continue my attempts at LM for Sherie in the fall. Try getting her before the show or at 47th street...that's the only thing that I can suggest.

Yeah, you keep waiting on 47th. There's no way to get out of the Lunt and onto 47th street. It also doesn't take her time at all. I've seen her walk out among audience members countless times. Oh well! I think she's great at getting around it all.

Why on Earth should a performer have to use an alternate exit if they don't want to stop and sign? Why should they be inconvenienced if they don't want to talk or sign autographs with people? You paid to see them in a show, not to have a "meet and greet" with them. Besides, some theaters don't have alternate exits, unless they're going to walk out through the lobby.

musicman_bwayfan, while I appreciate your enthusiasm, I have to ask you a question. If actors are going through this much effort to avoid the chaos of stage-dooring, why wouldn't you put their wishes to be left alone above your desire to meet them by actually going before the show?

Wait, so you're getting the cast's autographs, and then you're considering about selling them on eBay for your own profit?

I think it's fine if they don't want to stage door. If they don't want to sign they don't have to. But I think if they are going to come out of the stage door they should be polite and nice about it. They should say "I have to be somewhere, I'm sorry" or "I'm in a rush" or "I'm to tired to sign, I'm sorry" But they shouldn't just completely ignore the crowd.
