If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

My parents gave me a trip to NYC that we just got back from (December 19th-23rd)! We are from South Carolina and there are five kids in my family so it's hard for us to have money for big trips! But my parents have been saving up and paid for the ENTIRE trip (travel, a suit at the Weston, food, souvenirs, EVERYTHING) without using credit! All cash! With money from them and my Grandparents I saw Next to Normal on the 20th and took my little Brothers (15 and 12) to see American Idiot on the 21st (they where enchanted by it)! LOVED both shows!
Today I got a Broadway Calendar for 2011, Finishing the Hat, the newest Playbill Broadway Year Book, The Broadway Musical Quiz Book, a red American Idiot T-shirt, Tickets to Next to Normal on tour, and Tickets to the Lion King Tour with my entire family!

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim
