*SPOILER ALERT* I saw BOM on Wednesday. I was under the impression that c**t is mentioned in a song and/or scene. I literally did not hear it. Where in the show does this song or scene take place? The girl next to me stated at intermission, they said it 30 times within some song. My only defense is the lack of blood flow to my brain due to the painful lack of legroom in the mezz. Cause I did not hear it Thanks for the input.

It's in Hasa Diga Eebowai.

I remember that song. Did they say it 30 times? If they did...I literally need my hearing checked.

Spoiler!

They sing F you God in the ass, mouth and c, then repeat it a few things. The song ends with F you God, in the c.

I wouldn't say 30 times, but I can count at least 8 from memory...

Wait- you went to see Book of Mormon because you wanted to hear them say C*nt?

Thanks Broadway...I remember that now. Like I said, my legroom was painful for me.

Not hardly...Monkeyboy. The press made such a big deal about that aspect of the show. I thought I missed something. I went to SEE the show because of the HYPE. I actually found it overated.

You couldn't understand the lyrics because there was insufficient legroom? I'm so confused.

Prior to seeing the show I heard they used the word. It was used to much greater effect once in "The Motherfu**er With the Hat". It made my jaw drop when she said it. Just came right out of left field. There were gasps in the audience and then laughter. A bit nervous though!

Lack of leg room can be very distracting and sometimes painful for those of us with very long legs. I too have missed lyrics and jokes while trying to silently get comfortable in a cramped theatre seat.

Correct. The lack of room created a painful viewing experience due to the blood clot in my left leg, so 100% of my attention was not devoted to the lyrics. Still confused?

I've listened to that song a thousand times at this point and never noticed them singing about carrots. Maybe I'm missing something.

Going by the lyrics, it's said five times in "Hasa Diga Eebowai".

This is one odd thread!

In "Hasa Diga", it's said seven times: three each on the chanting "f*ck you, God in the ass, mouth and c*nt" that is said once by all the villagers and then repeated by the men (so that's six) and then once at the end by all the villagers (the last lyric of the song is "in de c*nt", as it says in a picture of the sheet music I saw in some video). lol

Edit: I forgot- "When God f*cks you in the butt/f*ck God right back in his c*nt". So, yes, eight, actually.

I'm not surprised you didn't hear it, because that show has the worst sound design I have heard in a musical in years. It won the Tony for sound design because of the show, and the fact that no one knows how to vote for sound design. I had trouble understanding a lot of words. Bad music directing and bad sound design can create lots of trouble understanding lyrics. And by the way --- "Mormon" is pronounced how it is spelled --- not "Mormaaaaeeeen" like Rannells. Again, I blame the music director for not telling the actor.

Just buy the CD -- play "Hasa Diga Eebowai" slow -- and count.

I remember leaving the theatre impressed because where I sat, I heard every single word very clearly. I thought the sound design was impeccable.

That was the night I went and the seat I had.

I just came here to say:

* The first time I saw Book of Mormon was right after the Tony nominations were announced, and I was in literally the back row of the mezzanine. I heard the word just fine.

* The second time I saw the show was the Friday before the Tonys, from a box seat. Again, same. I heard everything fine (and better).

* I am 5-foot-1.
