I agree that Mary Stuart Masterson losing to Jane Krakowski..but Jane krakoski won because she flew in on a sheet hanging from the ceiling

One of these just doesnt belong, one of these just aint like the rest. Hmm. Yes *I* would have put Matt Morrison in there, but even if not, I still dont get Cavanaugh's nomination in the category. I thoroughly enjoyed him but maybe he shouldve gotten a special recognition or something different than this.
I havent really been paying too much attention to the Tonys till recently so thats pretty much the only one that really bothered me. Other times when I disagreed with the winner/nominations, it was usually over a show I never got to see so I figured I just missed something.

Posted: 2/4/05 at 5:57pmBoth were great, but I agree that MSM should have won over Jane. Her character is much more important to the plot, and she has the two best songs in the show: "Be On Your Own" and "My Husband Makes Movies". She gets my vote over Karen Akers as Best Luisa Ever!

Posted: 2/4/05 at 5:59pmCavenaugh deserved it over Roberts, but both were so questionable - same with Ashley Tuttle for MOVIN OUT. And I don't feel that Dick Latessa should have won - I still think John Dossett should have.

For those of you who think that Jerry Herman wasn't dissing Sondheim, here is his acceptance speech:
"There has been a rumor going around the last few years that the simple, hummable showtune...was no longer welcome on Broadway. Well, this proves that it is alive and well at the Palace Theatre."
He gave Sondheim the stink eye while he was saying it, too.

No offence, I love Sondheim but his scores are not really simple lol. I think he was just happy. His La Cage score was an old fasioned type score, i think thats what he meant

No, I would definitely say that A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC rightfully won - it's a brilliant show.
As far as Raul Esparza, because I liked taboo and I like his work I would have liked to see him win, but Cerveris earned and deserved his win - he was solid and brilliant and took his role to places no one else in that cast even started to do.
