Was looking forward to 9 to 5 before hearing this. Now can't wait till it hits Broadway. I hope they keep making more songs from the show available for download to help build anticipation.
This number floored me when I saw it in LA. She is so amazing during the number as her confidence builds towards being strong towards this guy who gets weaker and weaker in front of her! AMAZING!
CurtainPullDowner, I'm not really sure if this is what you're looking for because I'm not too familiar with musical terminology but that recording pretty much gives you the gist of what the song is like live, unless they make changes.
Of course, with fake/less instruments it sounds different. Its much bigger and fuller in the theater with more strings or brass at certain parts, and the soft breakdown in the middle is more ethereal (perhaps not the right word) sounding.
There are clips of this on the forbidden site. There's one of Dolly singing the demo of this song and its completely different.
Please tell me that is not the best song in the score. Block's performance aside, that is one of the most irritating melodies and sophomoric lyrics I have heard in a long time.
I've heard live clips of it on that site, and it really does sound alot better with the orchestrations. I also think that Stephanie J Block doesn't really sound fantastic on cast recordings. She just sounds stiff compared to her live recordings.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention...I'm the good cop, he's the bad cop.
