I have to say, she really should get it over Allison. If she ends up in Best Actress, it comes down to them two. If she ends up in Featured, then it's going to be heated between her, Karen and Haydn.
This would probably be my favorite new song. It fits the character and Stephanie's voice so perfectly.
These orchestrations don't do it justice, either. They're very "demo". This is up on YouTube, if you want to hear it with a full band instead of a synthesizer.
She is amazing! I'm going to be so annoyed if she doesn't win best actress.

I'm really impressed with this song, I thought it was going to be some hokey hoe-down as in "GET OUT Y'ALL YA HEAR?!" but its completely blown away any preconcieved notions I had of this show. I've gotten so much more excited to see this show.
Wow. I loved that! I'm kinda tearing up but smiling like a dork about it at the same time.
PiraguaGuy2, I agree. Seeing/Hearing this song with the real full orchestrations and her full belt is a totally different experience. But I really enjoyed listening to this because her voice is the focus. It's so clear and you can hear all the little nuances in her performance. I really liked how she sang "dream" in the first verse. So much emotion in one little word. =)
I notice her sounding different too. But in a good way. I think Dolly's music and input is adding a whole other element to her singing.
Question: My music player has this labeled under "9 to 5 Studio Tracks." Would this be the vocal on the cast recording? I'm guessing its a little something to tide us over until it comes out.
I also think this show might be the one to do it for her.

Amaranth, I don't think they even recorded the real cast recording yet. Many shows record a couple tracks with a reduced band for promotional purposes, and then re-record when they hit Broadway.

Oi. Allison is much better than Stephanie in the show, having actually seen it. And is UNDOUBTEDLY more of a "lead" than SJB. I'd love to see her nominated and win in featured.
